The “RUN AWAY” Defense
Introduction
Welcome again to another Grasshopper Antics! Today we will cover something unique about the Grasshopper’s check.
What do you mean?
Normally you would have to move out of the way to get out of check. But with a Grasshopper check, and a piece is in front of your King, you can just move that piece out of the way to get out of check! When a Rook or Queen is checking you in the same position, though, you have to put a piece in front of your King to get out of check.
