I'd like to see what happened to the partner's board and am not sure how to rewind the game? Like go back a few moves or go to the start of the game? All the controls just affect my board. This seems to be the case after the game is over too?
I'd like to play with people close to me in ratings, and saw that I can set a ratings range under settings -> play. However, it seems that this is not saved to my account? When I leave chess.com and return using the same account/browser later on, the ratings restriction disappears. In particular, whenever I first visit the variants bughouse page, the game that queues up automatically never has a rating restriction.

Dumb question--how do you see your partner's ratings? I can see mine and my opponent, but not the ratings on the partner board. Clicking on name seems to show standard chess only.

Hello everyone, our club wants to organize a Bughouse tournament, with partners chosen before tournament. However, I cannot see a way to partner a friend and join the tournament in duet.Is "selecting partner before tournament" a missing feature, or do I miss any obvious way to do it?

I've only had about 10 bughouse games here don't know. I have played it more in real life to be honest. Love it though so would like to see more noob meeting areas so can play some more. Just say what rating people you are looking for: I will say : ANY because I just want to play bughouse xD

In some variant out there you can´t drop pieces with check. This suits someone who likes the overall idea, but not the tactical superhypersharp game. In other variation both boards play to the very end, be it check mate, time out, whatever. Fight til the end! Play it out! If 3-fold draw, game goes on on the other board. If mate, on the other board one must win, the other just has to draw to team-win. One mate for each team counts as draw. This is for someone who (like me) hates sitting hard. In some games one pair is over 2 minutes, the other in their last seconds. No one is supposed to wear down the clock like that. More wins on the board, less wins on the clock. A time out destroys any chance of winning, regardless what happens on the other board. Even if this underwent 99% draws (say, in most games one team mate wins, the other loses) it´d still be an awesome game, enjoyable every step of the way. If the process is fun, who ever cares about the outcome.
Instead of blocking someone so that you won't end up being their partner in a random bughouse game, can there be a different command instead of blocking? If you block someone, you won't hear what they say. For example you don't want to partner up with your friend who's around the same raiting as you, but you still want to talk to them. It could be Blocking = wont partner random games Censor = no communication, and no matches in random games.

My teammates and opponents are resigning on the 0th and first move. I wonder why?

Has anyone had an issue when using a mac computer where your partner's board isn't showing up? I am using google chrome for reference.

What if you could premove placing a piece before you had it? So when you would look at your pieces that you could place, it would have a 0 next to any pieces you didn't have. But you could premove that (even if it was your turn) so the second u got it, you would place it. This will help in time scrambles that are very close. +1? -1?

Announcing the first ever Bughouse World Championships! There are two sections: an Under 2000 section as well as an Open section. The under 2000 section is open to players whose performance rating falls under 2060 (*performance rating is the average of rating on Oct. 10 2020 with all time high bughouse rating achieved). The tournaments will be longitudinal in nature, with teams having one week to organize and play each match. Registration is now open through Oct. 30 and the tournament will begin on November 2. Please contact the tournament organizers @gogoburritos, @crimsonvortex, @archdukeshrimp, and @legiondestroyer if you have any questions about the tournament. This has probably been raised before on a different topic, but I'd really appreciate a setting that limits your partners rating to one that is either close to your own rating or self set. While I don't usually have an issue with partners and I don't get upset too easily, I think the nonstop games with newcomers to the game who are typically 800 rated and lower have been eating away at my patience and sanity. This has come to a point where I might become another mindless raging user who goes off at the smallest mistakes or mistakes that are easy to overlook and I really would like a break from this experience, without having to take a break from the variant I love to play. Hopefully with more interest to the game, more quality of life changes can be made to the interface and being able to set seeks for partners who are above/below a certain rating range would be a feature I would love to see added.

Hey All - I recently started playing again after a few months off and noticed some pretty big changes to the UX. 1. I can now hear the movement sounds from my partner's board. I can see why some people would like this but I find it confusing as I don't know if it is my opponent moving or my partner / partner's opponent. This means it is harder to watch my partner's board on my move as i have to keep checking to see if my clock is running. Can i turn off the sounds from my p's board or change those sounds? 2. This is a big one. I'm not gaining access to pieces captured on my partner's board until after I move meaning i can't sit for a piece. Is this intentional? It makes it a totally different game.... 3. I can't pre-move any more. I understand that pre-moving is someone unrealistic and can make the end of many time crunch games stupid but it seems like the functionality is still there but changed. Is there something i have to click to make my pre-move happen once it is my turn? I figured out that right click cancels it but i can't seem to make it actually happen. Thanks for any help / advice. EDIT: I found another post that mentioned similar items. Seems like i was playing beta by accident.

It is with urgency that I request this bug or glitch be rectified. Randomly and sometimes, completely unknowingly to players in the Bughouse arenas, a match can start without you even hitting next game, and sometimes even after you have closed the arena, even if I am unpartnered. This makes it extremely hard to enjoy part of the arena for those people who need to leave halfway through the arena. This problem has grown to the fact where you are pulled into a game, unless you log off chess.com, making it hard to participate in other activities for the time that the bughouse arena takes up. Thank you for reading this.

It's getting so bad that after 1 decent game, I have to abort 10x in a row, and have to wait for a good game. Is there a time zone when strong players play?
In the Swiss tournaments, there usually is a smaller, grey number to the right of the number of games you have won. I'm guessing that it is probably a tiebreaker of sorts, but I don't know how it works. Does someone here know?

Having bad problems with this new updated format. Pre-move doesn't work. Had to refresh to see my pieces off the board, and My partner's pieces are all screwed up. If partner wants to chat with you needs permission? Needs to be fixed.
