There is no need to talk in bughouse chat, We can use emojis only (Stall, Don't stall, I need a pawn, Trade.. etc) and chess.com can add new emojis like (ok, I'm dead, Hard.. and other words we need it in the chat) That's better to avoid rude people (Please take this point seriously) and we don't lose seconds for writing, reading and thinking what to answer, I mean we choose to turn on the chat or only use emojis

I love bughouse, like most people in this club, the issue is bughouse match ups take 10+ minutes usually and they're usually like 3 minute games. Swiss/Arena is the only way I can play bughouse. Also, KOTH, Crazyhouse, 960, usually always get more tournaments.
So either
A) Give some tips to have matchmaking be faster
B) Please add more tournaments

Stall and Sit it mean: don't play until partner tells you or just don't play few seconds?

I really want to attend a bughouse tournament but google hasn’t led me anywhere (only k-12th grade tournaments). Does anyone know of any reoccurring bughouse tournaments in the U.S. for adults?
(Yes I’m aware my rating sucks).

In Shogi, there´s an specific rule against loops of capture and recapture, or any repetition of moves whatsoever. Games can never end by repeating moves, you always have to be inspired and try new pathways. Though quite unusual to finish games this way (that´s my experience at least), this is a good idea for double chess too. Rid of 3-folds and even 2-folds, always forward. Sorry buddy, be creative.

I'm rather new to bughouse. I don't know much of the strategy or tactics to look for, but I want to improve. I just wonder if the Sicilian defense or other openings that don't make much room for the king early on, are bad.

Developers - has there been a change to the page recently? Or mobile users - anyone else having prob
So, I've been playing Bughouse on the browser of a mobile device every day for many months without issue, as anyone within my range will know. Today, the layout is different. At any time I can only see either my partner's board, or the chat box. Not both. I either can't see the game or I can't see any communication. If the chat box is open it's taking up the whole page, closing it uncovers the board. Nothing has changed on my end: same device, same browser. I've downloaded a couple more browsers and the exact same thing happens. Tried mobile view and desktop view to no avail. Are my Bug days over? 😭

What's this "add 15 seconds to the clock for your opponent" thing that's sometimes popping up now? I've never seen this before in Bug, or anywhere for that matter.

We are thinking of narrowing the rating range you get for random pool matches. But that will mean that you won't get matched quite a quickly as you do currently.
Currently, there is no restriction for the range of players you may be paired with. We attempt to pair you with someone closely rated but if none available, we don't wait and just pair you with the first players we can find.
Right now, There are about 5 matches per minute starting on Chess.com which is a very very very tiny fraction of the total games being played Chess.com. But is enough to make you not generally have to wait to long to get a game of some kind.
But if we added rating restrictions, that could make the pool very small very fast and up the wait times a lot.
So... How long are willing to wait? and what kind of rating range would you like to see?

They paired me up against a FIDE master @Morscas rated 1695 like my rating was the same (but my rating was actually 1223).HE was also partnered up with another FM , and I wasn't.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I played Qh1 and then my partner was mated a few moves later on their board. Can you put a pawn on the 1st rank as white? What am I missing?

Any Chicago people looking to play IRL? I have a group of 4 that like to play regularly and wouldn't mind adding a few more for more evenly matched games. We're in the 1100-1450 range but new to playing online and would probably get better quickly with a higher rated player telling us why we suck. Definitely willing to play with people outside that range on either end.
