Hello to all, after searching for some antidote to the close and theoretical french, I stepped over the Millner Barry Gambit. Here is how you get into it. Taking the second pawn is extremely dangerous; however, most players I play against take the bait. Of course it's especially dangerous to take the other pawn if you play Tal ;) Here's a miniature of such a game. And here is what happens if you play Tal and don't take the second pawn instead of moving the Queen away immedeately often a6 is played first. I would like to analyze my last game with you. I had trouble of finding the right plan in the middle game, but it was even harder to my opponent and luckily he blundered before I lost all my initiative. Maybe I will post some more detailed analysis of the opening soon, I hope you enjoyed the post :)
This is a recent game i played with the Muzio gambit, comments welcomed

Evans gambit represents a special branch of Italian game. This romantic system got his name after his inventor a sea captain William Evans. Morphy, Andersen Chigorin accepted his ideas. Of course Black can decline it. That way black keeps away terrible complications, but white is still one tempo up. Declination usually gets no advantage to either parties Typical Mistakes In declined gambit It can be accepted with the Knight Accepted with Bishop We can conclude that Evans gambit is full of beautiful combinations and tactical possibilities. Romantic system second only to King's gambit Cool games: Fischer-Fine Andersen-Dufresne Couldn't find Morphy vs XY (Unknown opponent)
Obviously, we all bring different gambits that we love to the table. So here is my challenge to each Gambit Gang member... I want you to do a bit of "homework", if you will, on as many gambits as you like, but at least bring one that you like. Let's say for instance that you like the Smith-Morra Gambit. I would like for you to create a forum that revolves around this fascinating gambit. Include an intro to the line, the main line, several valid alternatives, popular defenses to the gambit, and at least one or two knockouts from both sides. And if you could publish a game from the originator of the gambit, that would be a knockout as well! For instance, the Danish Gambit was popularized by Severin From. If you choose the Danish, bring a game or two that he played with it, a win and a loss, that would be cool. So start your engines...let's see who picks what line, and then create a forum around your line. This will be a good way to begin. I will wait until others have picked their pick, and then I will bring something "unusual" to the plate!

You always have 'those' games that never go right. I was defending against the Elephant Gambit in an interal GG tournament vs our very own Bugs11. I slipped early and he literally crushed the soul out of my pieces. This was definitely one of those 'WTF was I thinking!' games. I ran analysis by rybka in fritz11. Enjoy.
I have created a halloween gambit opening book for Fritz! This is a pretty deep book with 100 human games, 200 engine games, and a lot of lines from the halloween gambit newsletter. I would like to play some games with people (with me using Fritz) to fine tune this book. Also, if anyone wants the book, just give me your email and I'll send you a link (i can't post links here or else they get removed). Note: This book is in .ctg format. Disclaimer: If you use this book, I cannot guarantee your safety!

My rating went up due to the use of the Elephant Gambit. I have developed a great database of games (human & comp) which helped me a bunch. These are some of the games which helped me get over the 2000 threshhold. I'll post the next (and last) 4 next. OK did it. You can just click HERE TO GO TO PART 2. Boog.

Two gambit heros face off in a Blackmar-Diemer 1.e4 d5 2.d4. Velimirovic finds a bold rook sac 14.Rxf6. Bellon Lopez gets the first few moves right, but goes wrong with 16...Qe7?! blundering away his h-pawn. Velimirovic wins back the exchange, and finally presses his passed d-pawn home.

I wanted to ask some experienced Halloween Gambit players how they play the Halloween Gambit. I read in the Unorthodox Openings Newsletter that 1.Nc3 is the easiest way to achieve the Halloween Gambit because black has fewer ways to deviate. Your opinions?

Here Kasparov gambits a pawn in the Flohr-Mikenas line of the English Opening to open the centre and keep black's b- and d-pawns restrained. Eventually, Beliavsky can't take the pressure, and gives the pawn back, but the b-pawn never gets free, and eventually falls.
