I just lost my 40-something day streak, because Duolingo isn't loading on any of my devices. It just puts me on this loading screen for eternity. Have I failed Duo the owl-bird thing-a-ma-bob? Wildfire update: largest fire is 50% contained, we are on a statewide water shortage (fun!), my local reservation allegedly caught fire (I'm not brave enough to go there and confirm it), and when I thought the air quality couldn't get worse, it did. The air in my area stinks. Literally. Why can't Florida gift us a tropical storm or two?

I usually don't do my Duolingo often, but today, I have competition. I'm trying to win my league to get the achievement "Winner" in Duolingo. However, someone else came and is trying to beat me. I checked their profile, and last week, they got 3,100 XP. Keep in mind, I've only gotten roughly 4,000 XP on Duolingo my entire life. I lost all my hearts already, so they have a head start. It's time to lock in. If I'm not online, it's either the wildfire or me grinding Duolingo. Ban attacking this guy cam up in my mind, but I'm not evil, so I'll just have to beat them fair and square. I'm Duck by the way. The guy I'm trying to be at is fericho. They're in fourth place in the first screenshot.

Have you ever seen the drummer on dragon boats that help the team keep pace? I want to do something similar and help our vote chess team. I really like the concept of chess calculations and I've come up with a formula (pardon the pun) that I hope will work. Well... it's not so much my formula. Rather it's a method known to work and why vote chess can be fun for everyone. Some players may be great at the opening while others are better with tactics or end games. When we discuss candidate moves before voting we avoid random moves and get to learn from each other. Stronger players get to practice their coaching/teaching skills while others learn how to calculate candidate moves (and hopefully avoid blunders). For those that know me, you might know how much I like infographics so I created a few that I hope explains it (I have more in the series but wont flood you). Feel free to ask questions or make suggestions. I'm specifically interested in formalizing how we share candidate moves and discuss/analyze them.

It was a pretty nice place, though it was teeming with hermit crabs. We heard thunder and decided that wet rock a hundred meters up isn't a good idea, so we left before I found anything cool 😔. I feel like ruining people's days, so here's a dad joke Once there was a snail named Speedy. You see, Speedy wasn't like other snails… plot twist, he was slower than them (that's not the joke though). Speedy had always wanted to live up to his name, so he bought a McLaren because why not. To make sure everyone knew it was him, he trashed the value of his car by spray painting a large, red S on the car (don't do illegal graffiti children). It worked! With his flashy new vehicle, he was faster than everyone other than Max Verstappen (that's also not the joke)! Whenever someone saw Speedy zooming by, they would exclaim:"look at that S car go!" For those who don't get it (A.K.A. those who have a decent sense of humor) S car go ⬇️ Escargot  Sorry for ruining your day. Still don't get it? Look up escargot. Apologies for the title. I'm tired. So if you don't already know, I love my club. My largest goal was to reach 1,000 members. The problem is, we seem to lose someone for every new member we get. So I want YOUR input! What do YOU want to see from the club? Also, don't be shy to say hello! We love activity, and it seems to be a thing of the past now... So Chess.com has a history of partnering with other websites. Two recent examples are Duolingo and Discord. I haven't researched it much, but what do you think is the best/most thought out partnership that Chess.com has completed?

So Chess.com updated what the computer icon looks like. It seems to be slyly smiling, but it looks like it's about to murder me in my dreams.   Now I'm scared. Time to find a therapist. Also... pwease try to be a widdle more active?
