Folks, whatever you do, please remember to castle first -- your king is a lot safer and it is a lot tougher for people to mate you when your king is castled. Also, if you're going to play the Phildor, 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 Bg4?! is a lemon -- after 4. dxe5, Black has to capture on f3 (taking back with the pawn drops at least the e5 pawn) when the Queen and later the Bishop will come into powerful play for White. If you want to know the ins and outs of any given opening system, I have currently used up all my tournaments, but we do take requests. If you're interested in running tournaments for us, please message me; if you're the right person for the job, I will make you an administrator so you can invite all of us to your thematics. That way, we can run more. Red Army Scalps: Red Army 1 1/2, Power of Chess II 1/2 Matches Forming: Red Army vs. Power of Chess -- 14 boards so far; 20 more needed. Some kids at school make fun of Man U. Let's show them they're wrong!!!!!!!!!!!
Who do you think is Man U's biggest rival?
For those of us who like 1.e4 the best as white and are familiar with the statistics on chessgames.com, we are probably aware of the fact that the sicilian defense is the best scoring line against 1.e4. There is a very sicilian posistion altering opening for white called the Snyder Variation. For those of you who might not know, the opening follows 1.e4,c5 2.b3. On chessgames.com there are over 250,000 games with the sicilian defense and only about 600 of them feature this variation. I have had pretty good success with it in tournament and on this site. It can really destroy a sicilian player who has never encountered it. Out of all the anti-sicilians, this one seems to me to be the most anti-sicilian. So I would like to know if any of you who will read this post like to play anti-sicilian openings and what your favorite one is. Also, for any sicilian players I would like to know how you like to respond best to anti-sicilians. For anyone who has never or very seldom seen the Snyder Variation, and is curious about it and would like to know a little about it, you should read this article on chessville.comhttp://www.chessville.com/instruction/openings/Martin/Mar04a.htm. It goes into some of the basic ideas of that line. Also feel free to challenge me to a game. The Snyder Variation is the line that I play most often against the Sicilian Defense. There is also another user on this site that I know personally who plays nothing but the Snyder who is higher rated than I am. His username is ndchessnut. He is the one who introduced me to that opening.

May we know who taught you how to play chess. Thank you for your respond. I learned how to play chess by watching my friends playing chess when I was still young in the late 1950s, but I stoped playing the game because I was appearing in the movies and was dancing the ballroom dancing. I just started playing chess again in the 1990s but not concentrating it because I'm just playing the game for fun, to make more new friends, to refresh/exercise my brain. I don't even read chess books and moves. Ray Duque III (GMBD), New York City

My three yr old today broke my heart into a trillion pieces.I could have coped if her mum had left me for the milk man or had she told me I wasn't really chantelle india brooke jordana anna's real dad, but the worst thing that could possibly happen to my carefully constructed world to bring the whole fabrication of my life tumbling to the ground has happened ,you have all visualised it in your worst nightmares "yes it is the thing we most fear"she said the words and there is no taking them back, she wants to be a MAN CITY supporter (large intake of breath) I've tried all the usual things to discourage her like Man city haven't won a trophy in thirty five years, that Ryan Giggs thought they were so crap he joined Man United, that they are the best team at getting draws in the league, and the best one that Man City supporters rarely survive past 4 can you help, how else can I discourage her from joining their ranks.
............Michael De La Maza............ In June 1999, his chess rating was 1164. In July 2001, his chess rating was 2041. How did he do this? Click here to find out about Michael De La Maza. Apparently, he had a method he created which worked...... After he used the method, he developed a tactical eye. He left his opponents biting the dust....... His chess rating increased drastically....... Nobody thought it was possible...... But he made it possible...... Click here to find out about his method on improving in chess tactics. He called it...... the Seven Circles. Click here to find out about the Seven Circles. Now, I do not have 1000 puzzles to post here, but I will provide 200 puzzles for you to try out. Do not try to solve them even after I've posted them until I tell you to (of course, you are free to, but it is recommended you try out the method). THIS IS THE METHOD: Do 25 puzzles a day. You should finish all 200 puzzles by the 8th day. Repeat the process, but this time, do 50 puzzles a day. You should be finished by the 4th day. Repeat the process, but this time, do 100 puzzles a day. You should be finished by the 2nd day. Repeat the process, but this time, do all 200 puzzles in one day. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Do not anyhow move the pieces nor immediately seek a sacrifice. Analyze the position and work out the advantages held by both sides. Do not play your move until you have found a soultion without any flaws, until you are sure that it is 100% effective and will not backfire. Remember the pattern; that is the perhaps the most important aspect of all. If you cannot find a satisfactory solution within 5 minutes, see the answer. Do not be lazy! P.S. "You may feel faint, nauseous, and sick. Blood may start dripping from your forehead. But if you have the courage to push on, you will be rewarded with a greatly enlarged tactical muscle that will leave your opponents in the dust." - Michael De La Maza P.P.S. I've tried it out, and my rating instantly went up by 100 points. For now, wait till I've finished posted 200 puzzles. Then, try out the method. Hope you improve!
