this is a game that took place between Capablanca-Tartakower ,New York,1924 .In this game, white sacrifices 2 pawns and uses blacks own f-pawn to guard itself from the black rook's checks , Fisher-Bisguier, New York,1958-59 .Hiding behind pieces(including the enemy's is the obvious way to find shelter from checks by the rook. (check movelist in the first diagram)
Remember the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer"? That movie was about child chess prodigy Joshua Waitzkin. In 1987, at the ripe old age of ten, he defeated NM Edward Frumkin with a series of tactically brilliant moves. Can you replicate his success? You're going to need guts for this one!
http://chess.emrald.net,,,,,,www.chesstempo.com,,,,,http://www.supreme-chess.com/chess-problems.html... these are really good if you want to improve in tactics and also this is in German... http://www.shredderchess.de/schachproblem-des-tages.html
Here is some puzzles from Polgar's book on tactics (the one with 5334 different puzzles). This book is very good because it not only has thousands of puzzles on tactics but it also has puzzles on the endgame and combinations. So all these are mates in two moves- you make a move and no matter what move the opponent plays you will be able to checkmate him on your second move.
