Can any strong players recommend how to prepare for a classical tournament? I am 12 years old with a 1400 USCF.

Hello, I am rated around 900 in rapid. I have gained around 200 points over the past couple months. My problem is one day I play really good games, and the next day, I make 5 blunders in one game. I'm not distracted or anything, I feel the same but my chess game is just off. Does anyone know anything that could help me with this?

I ended up forcing en passant in a game I played, which is funny considering the fact that en passant is almost never forced. (It's on move 42 btw)

I can take down a lot of 500's, 600's and have even beat a 1200 and 1600 (unrated). Why am i at this rating? i lost to someone who was both 200 in blitz and 900 in bullet at the same time..
I just wondering how to play live chess because there is no option to play it.

Hi everyone,Right now I am reading The Jubilee International Grandmaster Tournament: Bled 1961.Just enjoying, one of the best book and commentaries after, of course, World Chess Championship Candidates Tournament Zurich 1953 by David Bronstein. What are the best books about chess tournaments that were helpful for your improvement? Thank you!

I am around 1800 and want to improve to 2000 by the end of the year. I am stuck at my current rating and don't know how to improve upon my game from here. Does anyone have any instructive feedback for me based on some of my games? Here are a few examples: Here is a terrible loss that I had, I hope this is a game that could spark some constructive criticism and pointers:

So I got this message stating: USChess's live chess team is moving to Team USA Live, from which all live matches in the Live Chess World League and Pan American Live Chess League will be played moving forward. While it has been a great two and a half years with USChess, we believe that having a dedicated club for live chess matches is necessary to the long-term growth and health of our live chess team. All players intereste... does this apply to daily tournaments?

Has the USCF changed their rating system over the years? I'm a solid 1500 player in 30 min rapid. I'm 72, play chess for fun and to escape the humdrum, but in my college days when I took chess much more seriously, I was in the 1900-2000 range in OTB games. This is clearly not my strength now. I have no interest trying to regain this OTB rating. It seems, based on topics here, that achieving higher ratings in OTB would require a much more significant amount of effort than I I ever put into the game. Has the way games rated changed, or are current tournament players much more knowledgeable and prepared than I ever was?
