I got to 800 elo and have not improved over the past week. What should I do to get to 1000 elo. I have good understanding of opening and tactics, but how can I take my chess game to another level?

Hey everyone. I love playing chess. I want to get better, but I don't have the time for matches anymore. Any suggestions on how to improve without playing a game? Thanks.

Has the USCF changed their rating system over the years? I'm a solid 1500 player in 30 min rapid. I'm 72, play chess for fun and to escape the humdrum, but in my college days when I took chess much more seriously, I was in the 1900-2000 range in OTB games. This is clearly not my strength now. I have no interest trying to regain this OTB rating. It seems, based on topics here, that achieving higher ratings in OTB would require a much more significant amount of effort than I I ever put into the game. Has the way games rated changed, or are current tournament players much more knowledgeable and prepared than I ever was?

I have a tournament coming up in February that is Masters ONLY. It is 2100+ only. My rating is 2083, and I have 1 tournament remaining. Can i do it? 17 points.

I've known how to play since I was 7 years old, but I only started playing when I was 13, in September. I was around 300-400 back then, now since September 2023, I am 14 with a rapid rating of 1100 (Chess.com) and a rapid of 1500 in Lichess with a tournament at my local school under my belt. I score an average of 80-85% accuracy on good days, and around 70-75% on bad days, and on extra good days when I'm playing well, I get around 90-95% accuracy, I'm not wondering if I'm going to be a master or anything, just wondering that if I stick with chess, I'll get to 2000+ by the time I'm twenty. Feel free to review my games and give me some things to improve on. I'm open to criticism, thank you in advance. (:

I recently played in a tournament at my local school, I went 4-0 in a swiss tournament. If my opponents had an average rating of about 1000, what would my OTB rating be?

Please make the title more specific other than "How can I improve?" because if that's your question there's been like 17 posts with that question in the past 3 days and you can go read those. Example: Stuck at 1800 for 2 years, any recommendations for improving positional play?

I am 10. I am around 1800 in USCF 1770 to be exact. I just had an 18 point drop from the nationals. I have been stuck at the 1700-1800 range for about 10 months now. I do lots of puzzles every day, I have just got the puzzle machine badge yesterday. My coaches and my dad say my weakness is on positional. I sometimes have the wrong plan, sometimes my pawn is weak, and sometimes I get attacked because my pieces are on the wrong side of the board. Does anyone recommend anything I could use to learn, and study positional? Sincerely, Celine.

I am around 1150 rapid. Is there a way better than just watching YouTube videos to improve at the opening stage.

a while back i reached 1900 but I've recently fallen into a bit of a slump. I'm wondering what stands between me and a 1900-2000 and what I can do to improve those things. don't be afraid to be harsh on me, I want to do whatever I can to make that next jump
