I've played lots of games recently where I had many winning positions and simplified properly but wasn't able to win the endgame although clearly winnable. I just want to know some way of being able to Practice endgames.

Hi, my name is Kevin. I am a 1334 uscf rating (Yes, I am trash) and has improved over the past 6 months but now has plateaued in the last month. I still play solidly and I am confident that I can beat 1400s, but sometimes I break down during a tournament and lose. The chess season in my city(Oklahoma) has ended, so I have around 4 months to study. What can I do to improve my game, improve my rating because I wanna improve to 1600 at the end of next season. Thank you to everyone who is giving me good ideas.
I recently played an OTB tournament yesterday, it went ok with 2 losses and 2 wins with one of those wins being against a 1476. However, in my losses, I really struggled with positional play. On chess.com, people still blunder at levels like 1700 so you can take advantage of these and win games. However, when your playing OTB chess, your opponent's will almost never make obvious blunders and the game is mostly decided on the positions that you are given. I struggled with this since im not always the best at creating weaknesses within the positions and exploiting them. Are there any channels/books that are recommended for improving positional play?

When i first started playing chess of course like every other human being i looked for a really cool strategy to win more games faster and better to rank up my elo and stuff and ive found the fried liver attack and my first impression on it was oh my god the best use of the italian opening ever and ive literally used it in like 30 games even more AND NONE OF THEM EVER SUCCEED IN DELIVERING A PROPER A FRIED LIVER ATTACK its literally so predictable to the point all clueless noobs know how to even counter it its absolutely waste of tempos to play with this horrible and predictable trap.

Hi all, I learned how to play chess when I was about 10 and that was about as far as it goes. I started playing my son and he's been beating me so I wanted to up my game. I've had a few lessons and increased my chess.com rating from low 500's to about 770ish. I'm wanting to improve, obviously. I'm interested to find out what my rating would be so interested in rated games and tournaments in the Dallas area. I would like to play more OTB games so if anyone wants to meet for a beer and game, hit me up.

Do you guys think chessup2 is worth it. Please explain!

The U1450 section consistently has fewer players than the Open section. Sometimes the low number of players causes issues with pairings. I'd like to suggest that the lower section be U1600 or U1700, so that it will be closer in size to the Open section.

I recently played a chess game when my opponent played this: (I'm black) I know it's worse for him in the long run for a multitude of reasons, but I don't want to double my pawns, which is what he wants. If I move my piece twice then I'll lose my tempo. How should I counter this?
SandStorm2025 Apr 3, 2024
Not the best game, but 94.8 accuracy, played like a 2500, and destroyed the Sicilian. very instructive game too.
