or try out a new strategy that could help, and take advice from other players. It helped me soooo much. In fact I used to use the same strategy every time I played.

There is a lot of good advice here, I wanted to add one thing to it. You might want to take a break from blitz, it causes a lot of bad habits. Try rapid for a while, (idk a month? I was told this by a lot of good players), it helps me anyways.

why must you do this

Batman2508

Ok, I will try to play rapid...

Try the Woodpecker method. Spend 5+ hours every day on it for a week. When you come back to play, you'll play with unbelievable energy and all the calculation will come with ease and you'll improve no matter what

Try chess variant. I played 3-check chess and 4 player chess, it's pretty fun...

it may be fun but how's it gonna help my calulation.

Help Calculate?

Sometimes I calculate 2 moves on a good day.

Otherwise it’s about intuition and feel.

One move at a time. But then I’ve been doing this longer than most. Nothing better than experience.
Evaluate the position and decide on a move.

Come hades or high water !

The great Richard Reti once said in an interview that he typically only calculated one move ahead.  As others have said, with a strong understanding of the principles of chess, calculation becomes much less important.   Still a useful skill, but not the most critical.

variants might help you think outside of the box, I do them all the time.

TheOtherCreep

if you calculate more then 3-4 moves ahead then you are taking things to the extreme

Nbrown777

I agree

Dark_Ketchup
you hit the wall.. just accept it

Before you quit you gotta see this. The Queen’s gambit only ran for 7 episodes. Check the hidden episode 8, the Lost episode of hope. Beth Harmon runs into Elsa one day...

you can study.. learn 4-5 openings.. study until the endgame, so you have a general idea where the game is going.. a good tip is also follow where the enemy pieces are going.. play the 10mins game not the 3 mins, so you can develop confidence and have fun and not feel pressured.. enjoy the game, its a war.. it feels like conquering another kingdom or nation..

I don't know what it's about (I don't follow this Beth Harmon stuff), but it's not a Rick Roll...
