I was watching "Your Games Analysed" today and Elliot Liu talked about the idea of "think about what your ideal goal would be and then try to get your pieces into that position". I've also read Silman's The Amatuer's Mind - which I thought was a great book and presented this idea also.
So, I'm wondering if there are any chess engines out there that can give this sort of natural language tactical ideas (e.g. build an attack against e4 or play on the queenside). I've certainly tried anaylzing my games with an engine but, unless they're pointing out blunders, they often give long variations that I don't really understand the reasoning behind.
Naturally I could hire a human chess coach but does anyone know of any chess engines out there that can help in this way?
