The purpose of the Metro Phoenix Chess Club is to provide a forum in which chess players of all ages and skill levels can exercise their talents and develop into chess players of excellent caliber and character, and to promote the study and knowledge of chess; not only for fun and enjoyment, but also as an art form, and as a means for the improvement of society. In addition, we aim to provide the metro Phoenix area with "quality" venues for weekly chess playing. Our events will consist of fee based USCF tournaments and free casual / informal chess. We will host occasional annual 2-day and 3-day weekend open tournaments, and provide small group and private chess lessons. We strive for chess excellence here at the Metro Phoenix Chess Club ( MPCC ), a not-for-profit organization where quality and character counts.
