Bugatti Chess Club - Rules and Regulations
To ensure a positive and enriching experience for all members, the Bugatti Chess Club operates under the following rules and regulations:
1. Code of Conduct:
Respect and Courtesy: All members are expected to treat each other with respect and courtesy at all times. This includes refraining from personal attacks, insults, harassment, and any form of discriminatory behavior.
Sportsmanship: Maintain good sportsmanship in all games and interactions. Congratulate your opponents on well-played games, win or lose. Avoid sore losing or gloating after a win.
Fair Play: Adhere to Chess.com's Fair Play Policy. Any form of cheating, including the use of chess engines or external assistance during games, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the club and reporting to Chess.com.
Language: While passionate discussion is encouraged, please ensure that all communication within the club (chat, forums, etc.) is conducted in a respectful and appropriate manner. Avoid excessive profanity or offensive language.
2. Club Activities and Participation:
Active Participation: Members are encouraged to actively participate in club activities, such as matches, tournaments, vote chess, and discussions.
Game Etiquette: When playing club matches or tournaments, adhere to standard chess etiquette, including announcing checks and checkmates (if agreed upon), and being mindful of your opponent's time.
Tournament Rules: Specific rules for club tournaments will be announced prior to each event. Members are expected to familiarize themselves with and abide by these rules.
Vote Chess: Participate thoughtfully in vote chess games, contributing your analysis and casting your votes in a timely manner.
3. Membership and Conduct:
Application and Acceptance: Membership applications will be reviewed by club administrators. Acceptance is based on a genuine interest in chess and a willingness to abide by these rules.
Account Integrity: Members are responsible for the integrity and security of their Chess.com accounts.
Inactive Members: While we understand that life can get busy, members who are inactive for an extended period (e.g., several months with no participation) may be removed to maintain an active and engaged community. Administrators will attempt to contact inactive members before removal.
Disciplinary Actions: Violation of these rules may result in warnings, temporary suspension from club activities, or permanent removal from the club, depending on the severity and frequency of the infraction. Disciplinary actions will be determined by the club administrators.
Appeals: Members who believe they have been unfairly disciplined may appeal to the club administrators.
4. Communication and Feedback:
Communication Channels: Official club announcements and important information will be communicated through the Chess.com club forum and/or direct messages. Members are encouraged to check these channels regularly.
Feedback: We welcome constructive feedback and suggestions from members to help improve the club. Please direct your feedback to the club administrators.
5. Amendments to Rules:
The club administrators reserve the right to amend these rules and regulations as deemed necessary for the well-being and growth of the club. Members will be notified of any changes.
