Tips for Bullet Chess
In this blog post, I am going to teach you some tips for Bullet chess. Bullet chess includes time controls such as 1|0 or 2|1. About half or more of bullet chess games end in flagging. That's basically what defines bullet chess. Now here are some tips:
1. Pay attention to the clock.
Now, I'm not saying for you to get preoccupied about the clock. What I'm saying is just glance over at the clock every five moves or so. If you get too preoccupied about the clock, you might lose track of what's happening in the game and just get checkmated.
2. Play disruptively.
Play disruptively. This will help you gain time in the clock. Now, the clock isn't everything. You could still get checkmated or checkmate. But in my opinion, it's not very likely that somebody is going to manage to checkmate in a minute and a half or so. Play disruptively means you want to play openings like the Englund Gambit, or the Scandinavian, or the King's Fianchetto Opening. You want to have the element of surprise on your side.
3. Enable premoves.
This is simple. Enable premoves while playing bullet. While you may not want premoves while playing rapid, premoves are the key to flagging and time in bullet.
Alright, that's it for now. I might edit or add new tips later, but these are the main ones in my opinion. Hopefully these tips will help you in bullet chess. Thanks for reading!
