[Puzzle Road] Can you win with White? (P15)
Welcome to Puzzle Road!
I am happy to get your feedbacks about the puzzles! It motivates me to find something always better to post, and I’m sure that the puzzle of today will seem easy to you, because you trained very good your tactics since now already at least 2 weeks!
Indeed, the puzzle road is already 2 weeks old and we are soon in the middle of our way to success! Practice makes perfect, right? Let’s see if you found the correct moves in this position of today, to keep the advantage that Black won in the beginning of the game!
15/ Can you win with White? (Topic: defense)
White has a dangerous attack on our castle, but we can still stop this and win 1 pawn more! (If you check the material, you will see that we already have 1 pawn more!)
First move: Queen g4 + !
By checking the king and attacking the white queen, we force an exchange and take back with the rook! With check! Without his queen, our opponent cannot checkmate our king! Remember you need 99% of the time at least two pieces (three are better) to checkmate your opponent!
Second move: we take back with the rook!
Logical move. I think I don’t need to comment this. If White does want to protect its Knight, they need to play it on the g2-square.
Third move: Bishop e4!
We already have one pawn more: that means we can keep with an advantage if we exchange all the pieces on the board!
Last move: g x f6!
White will take back and will have an isolated pawn, which can be called a weakness!
Now, we just need to come with the king and take a second pawn more! The opponent gives up!
See you tomorrow for the next puzzle,
Have fun in playing chess!
