Day 10Day 11Day 12Day 13Day 14Day 15

 My goals:

1. I want to study chess in an organized way. I hope 21 days of organized study of the course will build my habit to create and follow my study plans after the course finished.
2. I want to win a Titled tuesday tournament in 2016
3. I want to win a Death match in 2016
4. I want to be one of  the top 10 rated blitz (3-5 minutes game) player on chess.com
The structure of the study of Day 16 was the following:

- Theoretical section:

Today I learnt about the 3 main chess style and about the importance to determine our style and find grandmasters with the same style and look their games for inspiration andmotivation.

The 3 main chess styles are the following:

1. attacking: Players with this style like to attack, take risk, play sharp positions where calculation skill is essential.

Kasparov, Tal and Shirov represents this style.

2. positional: These players like to add tiny advantages move by move and slowly building up their advantages regarding the pawn structure, weak and strong squares and pieces. Prophilaxis is a key idea for them.

Karpov, Pertosian and Smyslov are good positional players.

3. attacking-positional: The players with this style combine the advnatages of the two other styles. They call also universal players. They can change their style when the position changes, and need to focus on the attack or on the positional elements.

Fischer, Spassky and Carlsen are universal players.

Master game:

In the master game if the day I looked a nice center-break and positional pressure on the king and on a weak pawn.

I annotated the full game and share it with you:

Tactics:

Decoying was the key motive today.
I share with you 2 beautiful combinations:

Endgame:

Today the pawn endgame was a nice example how the king can use the geometry of the chess board to win time. We can go on a diagonal which looks longer, but in chess it is same number of moves to go from a1 to e1. The diagonal way a1-b2-c3-d2-e1 or the straight way a1-b1-c1-d1-e3 are both 4 moves long.

Conclusions of the Day 16 of the

1. We learnt what are the 3 main chess styles and I decided to realize my style and find grandmasters with the same style to inspire and motivate me.
2. In today's master game we looked pawn break in the center.
3. I solved puzzles about decoying.
4. In today's endgame we learnt the importance the consider the geometry of the chessboard.

I decided to follow how much time I use every day for the study and monitor the total time used too.

Today I used 60 minutes. The total time I used until today is 13 hours and 34 minutes. You can follow the daily training times in this --> document
