Fron 18 Jun i have been suffering many prearranged team like actions, like today, red and blue lost by design for green to beat me(I played yellow). The action have not been written in report rules and this be named''control the results on oppose'',it is cheat in 2-player chess. I can do nothing so there are suggestions 1.when one whose opposite player played negatively, giveng points for his side players,he win all af the points of kings except his 2.players whose pieces is the least in the game and whose scpre is the highest will be protected specially, players cannot attack them together,or they will be lost immediately, while the next move is a checkmate is allowed. That's all.thanks

Those are my last three (non-hyper) games, excluding the qualifiers; the point being that I didn't cherry-pick games. But anyway, there you have it, how not to get fourth: shuffle for thirty moves. Every game, the wrong person dies. I honestly don't get how I am supposed to have fun with this, I don't know how anyone has fun with this when they are forced to shuffle half the time, and I don't get how this is going to support or create even remotely strong players. So how to solve this? Make checkmates only worth ten? Make first and second both gain points? Bring back pure solo? Wait for the strong players to come back (it's only been two years)? I don't know, but I want to get the ball rolling on the idea that, irregardless of setup changes and the strong player exodus, the FFA product needs to be changed.

@ the developers test it for yourselves. Make a 2400 - 2800 queue. Then try and make a 2400+ queue. Then make a 2400+ queue and try to make a 2300+ queue. It will say 'you already have a challenge pending for this game'. Earlier i was in a situation where i could not play at all. A 2400 - 2800 queue was made and took ages to fill. I did not want to join this queue as my rating is 2800 and want to play vs those who want to play vs any higher rated players. It was not possible to make any other 2300+ queue. I tried 2300+ and 2300 - 3900 or 2300 - 3500 etc. None would work and said 'you already have a challenge pending for this game'. I could not play for a long time.

I am currently working on the world's largest database of OTB games. So far I'm at 17gb+ zipped! The project won't be done for some time, but If anybody has any OTB games from a local tournament or event I'd be more than happy to add them. Thanks.

Hello again, This thread will be used for publishing the official 4 Player Chess statistics during the Festival. The currently placed statistics in the festival modal on Variants has turned out to be incorrect. Please see the corrected and updated version below: Note that we observed a drastic seasonal decline during March-October for at least 3 years, so the decline on the charts above are expected, however, we hope that the Festival can significantly compensate that behavior compared to the last 3 years (we'll be able to see that in 2-3 months). Questions are welcome, make sure to check "Follow" to not miss new updates!
Player Efficiency Rating = { ( Total Points scored / Games played = Points per game) (Points per game / ( Moves played / Games Played ) = Points per move) ( Checkmates + ( Wins × 3 ) - Losses) × Points per move ) = Player Efficiency Rating) } A hypothetical model: 1000/50=20 20÷(750/50)=1.33 18+(10×3)=8 8×1.33=10.64 If you wanted to multiple it by 100, to make it appear more Elo like, the rating would be 1064
The first 4PC Festival qualifying arena has stared! Prizes 1st place: 3-month Diamond Membership (+ qualify to the Semifinals) 2nd place: 2-month Diamond Membership 3rd place: 1-month Diamond Membership How to Join Since the arena has a Self Partner format, it might not available under the 4 Player Chess section, which might be confusing. Please, 1. Go to the Self Partner Tournaments section 2. Enable "Self Partner" and "Bullet" filters & join!
Hi, I recently have played some 4 player chess games, and I (and sometimes other players in my games) faced a glitch where we are unable to move pieces, which results to a timeout loss. I would appreciate if this glitch was fixed.

Yesterday, i was playing against someone in the endgame and it was my opponents last limbs like 3 seconds but then the timer increased by 10-15 seconds and that kept happening until a few minutes later. What happened?
Aditya_C_Baker_Troy_17155 Jun 12, 2024
Reposting here since it may only be relevant to 4p servers. This has happened a few times in the past couple weeks. Sometimes after a game is completed, I am put into another game without queuing or hitting play again. For example I was in a game when my internet connection was lost. I only had a few seconds left so after a minute I knew the game would be lost and I went downstairs to go eat some food. When I came back I was in a new game (internet had been restored by that point) that had been aborted since I didn't make the first move.

It would be great to have the option of 4 PlayerChess960, Fischer Random Chess. Any feedback?

https://www.chess.com/variants/4-player-chess/game/66751677 Can we claim a three fold repetition with three players when one has disconnected and the other is in a three fold trap? Or would blue (in this game) have to keep checking for 50 moves where it would be a draw after 50 moves due to no new captures? Or can it never be a draw in this game? Thanks

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had any really cool stories that have come about as a result of playing 4pc or being part of the 4pc community? Redemption stories, Tales of revenge :0, People flipping their lid after losing a game... that sort of thing, it can be anything. (Try avoiding mentioning players names unless you have permission, or the context is nominal, or you know they would be totally chill with it - we don't want to cause any flame wars or put people in the spotlight in case they don't want it). Here's one from me and my girlfriend: It's all a Conspiracy >:0 There's this really amazing 4pc teams player from Norway, he's the best there is. He's absolutly stunning. Genuinely a great guy, when he plays 4pc he makes it look like plain sailing... For months me and my gf formulated this entire conspiracy about him (you know who you are, sorry bud xd)... See the thing is, we were still pretty new to the 4pc community back then and we started wondering who this amazing player was... looking back on it, it's actually kind of rediculous but from what little we knew and how unfamiliar we were to the 4pc community it made total sense. All we knew was he was the best at the game, he is from Norway, and once, while watching one of his games from the server, I saw him get snappy at his teammate for apparently losing the game (I'm way worse for the record and who wouldn't get annoyed at that anyway?)... It kind of reminded me of this other player I knew who was also from Norway, was the best in his game and was well known to be short-tempered if something didn't go his way... As a result, for about 2 months, me and my gf had this whole conspiracy where we believed that the number one 4pc teams player in the world was also the number one chess player in the world Magnus Carlsen. Why wasn't Magnus Carlsen using his main account? Because he has a contract with another chess website of course! Magnus Carlsen is bored with being the best at regular chess, so he finds true fulfillment by becoming one of the leading pioneers of the newest and (in my opinion) best chess variants there is... he doesn't need people to know he's the best at 4pc, he does it for himself and uses the 4pc community as a way to escape the fame and limelight he gets from being the regular chess world champion. I was so convinced and whenever we talked about his games we would always refer to this player as "Magnus". I kept it between myself, my gf and my parents (for bragging rights; *yeh I know...) and I decided not to mention it to anyone else especially within the 4pc community. If Magnus wants to keep his identity a secret then who am I to disturb his peace? Let him be... and if fate should decide that he reveals to me his true identity then I can tell him that I knew all along... So this player has a Twitch account and he streams regularly. I can categorically confirm that he is not in fact Magnus Carlsen but a brilliant chess player that also happens to be from Norway (population: 5,450,000+). Looking back on it, it is clear to see that I was an absolute idiot; but me and my gf had a right royal laugh about it afterwards. What did I learn from this experience? Don't judge a book by it's cover; Assume nothing; Nils Olav is a Brigadier.

I think when creating custom positions using the board editor, it should be possible to include certain fairy pieces in the position. I also think that when creating custom games, it should be possible to set the promotion to certain fairy pieces. Some fairy pieces I have in mind are 1. More Leapers such as -The Alfil, which jumps exactly two squares diagonally. -The Dabbaba, which jumps exactly two squares horizontally, or vertically. -The Camel, which moves like an elongated knight, moving exactly three squares vertically and one square horizontally, or exactly three squares horizontally and one square vertically. The camel can jump over other pieces or pawns. 2. More walkers such as -The Ferz, which moves exactly one square diagonally. -The Wazir, which moves exactly one square horizontally or vertically. 3. The Grasshopper, which moves in any direction, by hopping over a piece, and landing on the square immediately behind that piece. The piece a grasshopper jumps over can be any distance away from the Grasshopper. From what I found it looks like the Alfil, Dabbaba, Ferz, and Wazir are worth about half a knight, and the Camel is worth about 2 points.
