Hello everyone, I apologize for delaying the announcement of the Teams W4PCC. The last two-against-two championship ended January 15, 2022, a significant amount of time has passed since, and in its place last calendar year we had our first one-against-one teams W4PCC (Self-Partnering) . We are announcing it “administration soon” after the announcement of an event more important to 4PC on a community level, which I’ll update this forum about later. The W4PCCs will have to be worked around that community event and that is why we are waiting on that announcement first. The W4PCCs will be more important than that event on a “competitive” level, meaning the purpose of this event is to see who’s the best rather than feedback from the community as the other event is. I still plan on running an FFA W4PCC closer to this summer, and there’s a chance the FFA and Teams will overlap. That said, I’m leaving this forum open to discussion about recommended formats and feedback from past W4PCCs. I am leaving links below to previous W4PCCs. 2018 Teams: Information Discussion 2019 Teams: Main Page Qualifier Information

https://www.chess.com/variants/4-player-chess/game/66209076/208/4 I was top in points, but I knew I could not beat my opposite (blue) once yellow lost, so I was intending to just resign after yellow was checkmated by blue (mate in 1 was set up already), but they got greedy and started going for me out of the blue, eventually letting yellow sneak in the checkmate. In the end, they gave yellow the win by sacrificing their queen to push them above my points, but in doing so, put themselves in 3rd when they had 1st place being handed to them XD

So i'm starting to feel like FFA needs to be played completely anonymously for the best possible game experience. But blocking is also essential. I will not go into the reason why both of these are true but I think it is time to bring blocking into the anonymous mode. In 2 player chess any player can block any other player and they don't play together. This should be the same for 4 player chess. As it stands blocking only works for non anonymous and semi anonymous. Time to bring it to anonymous in my opinion.

Can anyone help me out on how to mate ppl in teams 4pc

I don't like how you can only promote to a 1-point queen in 4 player chess. For example, you could need to underpromote, but then you immediately get a queen.
I suggest the option to allow promotion on 11th rank in rated FFA games, it will be more fun when players are not only trying to promote like kids.

What's up everyone~ I started a YouTube channel on 4 player chess. If you play 4PC, please subscribe to the channel. Any feedback will be more than welcome! You can just DM. Also, I recently uploaded a video about why you should play 4PC. The biggest motive of starting this channel was to spread the existence of 4PC. I love 4PC and I would choose this game over the standard chess or any other chess variant. If you subscribe and share my videos with your families, friends, and/or your colleagues, more people will know about 4PC and will play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sun5FmEJQBM

Usually I (in a sense of my internal code of honor) play until my final rival can't get more points than me. THIS IS WHAT SHOULD BE CONDITION FOR AUTOCLAIM, NONE OTHER. On the other side, system declares autoclaim when my final opponent still can get more points (or if I can get more points than him). For whom to write in order to get this fixed? Just write me an address in private or send this forum post to the responsible admin.

10 Basic Strategic TIPS for Beginners How to Play #4PlayerChess . Tip 01. Never ever allow your left (west side) opponent to check you EVEN if he or she could lose 2 points by swapping his or her Bishop (5 points) for your Knight (3 points). If you could have prevented a check coming from your left (west side) opponent you know the difference fast enough ... Be hyper alert what your LEFT SIDE player is doing! . Tip 02. Look at who the strongest rated player is and try not to attack him or her too early ... if you do ... he or she may decide to focus mainly on you to get revenge! I have experienced that so many times it is not funny anymore. . Tip 03. Change settings how high the minimum rating is of your (future) opponents will be (I want to play with opponents who are 50 up to 150 points stronger than me) ... in that way you will not lose many points when you are last or 3rd ... but gain so much if you are 2nd or 1st! . Tip 04. Even if you are in the weakest position with no more chance of having any meaningful effect ... can also mean they (all other 3) temporary ignore you because they know others are more likely to be dangerous to them ... so they fight each-other faster than attacking you. Some (!) are so insecure that they attack weaker players just because they can ... but forgetting the other 2 crushing him or her in the process ... so those who attack only the weaker ones WILL get attacked by 2 stronger ones ... like Karma I KNOW that it is possible that the weakest can become the strongest at the end due to heavy fighting between the strongest players ... you only need 1 promotion of a pawn all of sudden the tide is turning in your favor ... about 1 out of 5 (of being in weakest position) changed in to being 2nd or even winning the game! So 20% chance you still can win the game even if you are the weakest depending how heavy the fight is between stronger players. . Tip 05. Avoid (prevent) at all costs swapping your Bishop or Queen or Knight in early stage ... you only make 1 opponent and yourself weaker the other 2 are laughing at you that you make it easier for them to attack you! . Tip 06. Sacrificing your Knight to take (capture) a promoted opponent Pawn (1 point only for your 3 points worth Knight) is most of the time necessary (!) ... unless you can predict the "Promoted Pawn" will attack other opponents that works in your advantage/favor ... to see that possibility you must have a form of "chess-intuition" like a "6th sense" but that is something nobody can teach you ... you have it or you do not have it. . Tip 07. If possible use both 2 Knights to surround (protect) your King closely ... 95% chance they leave you alone because other opponent Kings are more attractive to attack ... and I speak from experience played over 500 times ... Just think in reverse: what would you do if you see 1 of the 3 opponent being heavily defended by 2 Close-by Knights? You probably avoid going there ... that is the whole point of having a good defense: NOT BEING ATTRACTIVE for others to attack you! ... too much trouble for them. . Tip 08. Be always prepared that the player at the North Side checks your left East Side opponent ... if you can see that coming FREE your Bishop in advance (by moving 1 or 2 pawns who are blocking your Bishop) ... I did that many times I could attack left East-side player's Queen after he/she is "checked" by the North-side player! ... This can only be fruitful for you if you prepare for such event (possibility) in advance. . Tip 09. If you see some one is heavily working together with a 2nd Player to beat the 3rd player ... you MAY have to offer help to the 3rd player ... Why? ... because those same 2 players will eventually team up crushing you too! ... Officially it is "not done" to "team up" but if it is soooo obvious that 2 are working together bash 1 other player you can predict they will do that to you as well! ... I screen-capture-record every 4playerchess game I play so that if I am accused of "teaming up" with some one, I can SHOW THEM PROOF that i have a good reason to do so! . Tip 10. Have you ever had that moment that you see 1 of the 3 opponents just quits (maybe lost WiFi connection) ... and there you see a naked King ready to be captured giving you 20 easy points! ... If you are always prepared that this CAN happen ... you can move your Knight or Bishop in fastest way possible to capture that defenseless opponent's King ... if you are NOT prepared for that possibility you will probably complain that some one else get 20 easy points lol . Make Your "Top 3" of MY 10 #4PlayerChess Tips to see which Tips are most appreciated to have been given to you! . If you study all 10 Tips and truly comprehend all of it ... you find "normal chess" 1 vs 1 pretty boring ... and LOVE (appreciate) #4PlayerChess much more! Have fun, cheers . I played a Labyrinth 82 match in which 2 players resigned. Those 2 players then got stalemated, which resulted in their points being distributed equally to the 2 remaining players. In the end, I was winning both in pieces and points, but I stalemated my opponent (I could have avoided it and won, but that's not the point), which awarded them 20 points (I wasn't aware that that was the case), making them win the match. My question is, what is the reasoning of awarding the 20 points to a stalemated player just because they haven't resigned?I feel like it would make more sense that the points be distributed to the remaining players just like they do in case of: the stalemated player having resigned, insufficient material, threefold repetition, or the 50-move rule.Would like to know opinions about that. This is my first post on this website. I wasn't sure whether to post it here or in the Chess Variants forum.
I was having stress why I always have to be in the game when I want all 4 players to be bots. I can't even do that.

About 4 days now, I've noticed server games dropping.Others also saying similar thing. Haven't noticed an improvement yet. Joining games will timeout and not count. Reconnecting does not help. Occasionally a game here and there will work. Seems to only be for chess variants. Regular chess works fine
I was wondering about maximum points that were gained during winning.Somehow I was thinking that 100 points are max, but recently I got 107 points. Please share your maximum points that you got in 4x4 game.
