I had a fall last week. Broke my spine, seriously. T 12 wedge fracture. I should be home in a week. I can’t work the small keys on a borrowed hospital keypad, so I won’t be playing until I get home. I wanted to stick my nose in and let everyone I was still alive, in spite of a doctor error that almost killed me with a drug interaction overdose. I’m safe and well, relatively speaking.

So, overall, there are many 4PC variants that have been refurbished to variants. The new standard is probably the most popular, but other common variants (i.e. Chaturaji) exist. However, there’s a big problem: many players are not choosing some of the other variants. For example, this morning, I sent a challenge of Island Hoppers but no one was joining, so I surrendered my own challenge. I also want to play Tic Tac Toe, but if no one is going to play that either, how is this possible? I strongly think players should go for the throat and try bigger varieties of variants. They may learn something new after losing a certain position at least once. What do you think about this opinion?

4PC is almost dying, and now I feel like I can play less 4 PC games, especially hyperbullet, my favourite game mode, as most of the pros like @MegaChief and @concernedtrap123 left chess.com. Now, its even harder to get into games, as most people are not online. It is just FFA rapid, which is still popular, and all the variants have died. What can we do to get hyperbullet popular again?

Today the server is being crashed from 7:50 IST till 8:50 IST and is creating a new record for the longest crashed server. We should celebrate 13 Jan as internantional longest crashed server.

So recently, after around a year, I was trying to get my 4p teams rating up again becausee i used to love playing 4p teams around the time when Covid was at it's peak. So i got on the 4p server and my first game, i had a guy as my teammate, way under 1500 but with over 100 games of experience. I was rated way higher so I asked him, can you plz follow my arrows, he said "what if i don't" and resigned on the second move, making me lose 20 points. They should try and track the 4p teams trolls because in a very large portion of my games i have teammates who never listen, instantly resign, and just make stupid moves whenever i give arrows and try to explain a mate. These trolls make it impossible to grind rating (for me at least) because for me the only way to avoid them is to play with a friend. Now, if i play with a friend, and we win a lot, eventually well only get like 2 points per game and rating grinding just feels useless. So i think chess.com should have like a thing that measures every game you troll so only serious people can play 4p. Or just have a certain amount of games before they can play rated 4p teams.

The transparent name-tags of the 4 players will consistently appear on the actual playing board itself, instead of off to the side like normal. if i move a piece onto one of the spaces under the transparent nametag that piece becomes unclickable.

Play-ban the throwers: If we want to block the throwers, we should also report the throwers. They make our ratings go down on purpose so we should play-ban them.

If 2 or even 3 players take part in a mate on a single player, instead of giving 1 player all 20 points, split the points between the 2 mating players. ( or 3 @ 7+7+7 ) A backrank mate involving rooks of 2 different colours ( or queens ) covering the backrank and the 2d rank would be split 10 points each. Additional points for captures would remain the same. An open field checkmate would likewise be split, 2 players involved, 10 points each. If a capture is involved, those points would remain the same. And if 3 players were involved, 7+7+7. I'm kind of proud of myself for this one, so excuse me if I think it's a really good idea.

I said to people that 1/10-1D should be hyperbullet but they disagree but also they implied that 1/2-0 should be hyperbullet. If not, we need more time controls for hyperbullet

I am intermediate, and I have quite some experience in 4PC, both FFA and Teams. However, I have never ever played a high level game before (2400+ games). Both of my FFA and Teams ratings are around 2000. I have a lot to learn and I hope to be able to play in the W4PCC and maybe win a prize I never played for W4PCC, but what seems impossible is actually possible. I am considering asking someone to teach me, I should be online on afternoon weekends, and maybe on weekdays, and if I'm online on weekdays its always after 6 o'clock. Currently, it's the holidays. So I should be online until the end of the holidays. I have a lot to learn. Hopefully I can learn valuable knowledge that will help me win a prize in the W4PCC.

New players, are you tired of always losing against high rated people? I can show you how to get your rating to at least 1650 and maybe 1900. First, ENABLE PREMOVE! THIS IS THE GOLDEN RULE TO WINNING HYPER GAMES. Go to SETTINGS>> Enable Premoves. Second, it is important to get your king safe. That way you don't always have your premoves killed because of checks, which makes your premove an illegal move. A good idea is to fianchetto your bishop, then develop your knight towards the centre, then push your rook pawn where your bishop is fianchettoed, then instead of castling, move your king to where it would be if you castled. Then, you have your rook helping in defending. Then move your rook to defend your bishop. That is just one example of a good defence. Thirdly, you use your other pieces to attack the player with the MOST time. If you attack anyone else, you give him the win. The only exception to the rule is when that player is down a huge amount of material, maybe just 2 or 3 pieces left, and a bunch of pawns. Do not attack that player, even if he has the most time. To attack, you either use tricks to win material, or give checks/kill premoves to make him lose on time. Fourthly, do NOT target one single player for the whole game. You will have your premoves killed, he will target you back, and you will lose and he will lose. He will call you an idiot and other names, for giving the other players the free win. If that player had the most time when you started attacking him, and he doesn't have the most time anymore, attack the player who now has the most time. If you have the most time, be prepared. You will be attacked. Fifthly, when its at the 2 player stage, THROW on the other player, to make him lose time. If you can claim win, great! Do it. Or even flag. That is the same as claiming win. Throwing on the other player, spamming checks and killing premoves, and blocking his premoves from checking, makes him lose time so you can flag him easily. Lastly, if someone targets you, target back. Even if he doesn't have the most time anymore. If the other players are not idiots, then they will target each other and you should be fine. Then, you can call that targeter an idiot, but I suggest you don't do it after every game, or you risk being chat-banned. If people 2v1 or 3v1 you, then its really hard to deal. Play fast, and block their checks. If they mate you, then you can't really do anything. Bad luck. Anyways, there's always next game. At that point, you can play for 2nd since 1st is really unachievable by then. Hopefully this guide helps, the old guide has sucked, and Happy Hyperbullet!
