Where can I find the leaderboards?

I have finally figured " if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. " I have started to play opposites, when I'm not fighting for my own life, & a couple of the basic traps in the opening , and you know what, The game is actually more fun this way. Know wonder you like it so much. Double team is only cheating when you deliberately leave pieces en prise with no loss of time or material to pursue a 3rd player. Pay attention newbies and those under 2000 , ( which I am no longer one of ) a certain amount of double team occurs naturally , but can be played within the framework of the rules. I bet you never thought you'd hear that from me , did ya ? Double

If 1st = 3 wins, 2nd = -0.5, how did 2nd get +10 in this game? Also, can we help Justin find a new hobby? https://www.chess.com/variants/4-player-chess/game/31572412/611/1

Some players clearly lack of fair-play spirit, have no sportmanship. For instance: - betraying the opp in the 1st stage FFA for any reason (finishing then 3rd in most cases, but they don't care), - targeting some particular player, specifically the opp', simply because he is much higher rated, in order to make him finish 4th on purpose and to have the Schadenfreude to see him losing 30, 40 points, - resigning on purpose just before someone eats your Q and gets 9 pts that he deserved, - resigning on purpose just before the certain mate, in order to create thus a zombie king and to prevent the winning player from having 20 points and quite often from winning the game he was clearly winning, - eating as much pieces of someone with no strategic advantage (once someone realises he won't win), just in order to make him lose (by revenge), - failing to take an obvious mate in 1, making the opp to lose his Q, on purpose, - throwing on purpose in the 2nd stage FFA to some other player, playing for 2nd and wanting another specific player to be 3rd (kingmaking), - resigning on purpose in order to avoid for the CLEARLY winning player to win, seeing that he needs just 1 or 2 points to win (another case of kingmaking: one makes on purpose some player win rather than some other who clearly deserved the victory taking into account the game and his moves, etc.). I haven't played a lot of games where all the players were above 2500-2600, so cannot say, but in the 2200-2500 area such behaviours are unfortunately common. I think it's very damageable for our nice hobby.

I am of course pretty aware that 95% (or more) of FFA players simply do not feel the game and don't know some basics (like https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/basic-ffa-aspects), etc. Strong players of course must be able to adapt, even when playing with 1800 or 2200 players, etc. (It's difficult though, and quite often I lose because I basically fail to adapt to some incompetent players in front who don't understand how to play FFA and make lose themselves and myself; I'm trying to learn how to deal with that issue...). But what I personally HATE, that's when some 2100-2400 idiots who are totally against any cooperation, then throw the game totally to someone else, just in order to "punish" me to have played FFA normally. What is revealing, that's their opinion/attitude/mentality/thoughts about FFA, which is pure misconception. For instance, a 2357 player has just made me 2nd in Solo, offering the game basically to another player. 30 minutes waste for me! And it's not my "paranoiac interpretation", but pure truth, here are the comments from the guy in the chat: (I've translated from Portuguese and eliminated some sexual insults that he put): keep the second ### play team, idiot you don't know how to play ffa ### no pay you have to play team for that play by the rules, idiot don't be a coward That shows BTW a clear rating inflation; some 2-3 years ago it was INIMAGINABLE for a 2300+ player a) to ignore that openly and stupidly the best strategy, b) to feel "cheated" if someone cooperates and to say that it does not comply with the rules (which is obviously false). This particular incompetent player will later certainly either progress to 2500+ (after he will have understood how FFA is to be played actually) or will remain at 2350 or below. (As for politeness, it's unlikely he will change - at 33 years age, people don't change anymore).

Does anyone else have connection issues when playing 4 player? I have good internet connection, and then all of a sudden i'm no longer connected to my internet. It only happens when playing 4 player chess, and does not occur with any other website I visit nor if i'm playing the standard game, to it seems like it may be an issue with 4 player chess? I've tried switching to Chrome, etc. It's super frustrating when i'm in a good game and then suddenly i'm disconnected. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks all. I love the 4 player option. Great game so far.

Hello 4 Player Chess players! The discussion about rating system has been conducted by admins and 4PC experts for many months already. And now we are pleased to inform you that we have finally reached a certain consensus. However, we would like to be sure that our decision does not go against the interests and desires of the community, and for this reason we're running a special poll on the variants server. All FFA players who belong to at least one of the categories listed below will receive a poll when the variants page is loaded. 4 Player Chess Rapid 2200+ 4 Player Chess Blitz 2100+ 4 Player Chess Bullet 2100+ What does it mean? Option 1. Keep +3 -1 -1 -1 A player who gets the 1st place in a game earns 3 wins, and each of the remaining players receives 1 loss. For example, if a player wins a game and receives 24 points, each of the remaining players will lose 8 points. This is the current system that doesn't reward playing for 2nd and doesn't punish 4th. Option 2. Change to +3 -0.5 -0.5 -2 A player who gets the 1st place in a game still earns 3 wins, however, 2nd and 3rd places receive only 0.5 losses, and 4th gets 2 losses. Given the same example as above, where 1st place receives 24 points, in this case second and third places will lose 4 points and 4th will lose 16 points. This is the proposed system that is more similar to FFA and still doesn't reward playing for 2nd, but it does punish 4th. Note The examples are theoretical as they are considered under ideal conditions where the ratings of players are equal. Please keep in mind that due to the morphing system this is only applied to high-level games (where the average rating of players is high). In games where the average rating is low, or close to 1500, the +3 +1 -1 -3 system will be kept in either way. For more information about rating system, check out this wonderful post. How the polls work? Q: Is it anonymous?A: Yes. However, some players data, such as rating, may be used for statistics. Q: Is it possible to view, change or cancel selected option after voting?A: No. Q: How much time do I have to vote?A: Polls duration may vary, however, this poll will last 1 week. Q: Why can't I see the poll?A: Each poll has a target group of players determined by players rating. Only this group of players can see the poll. If you are a member of such group according to the table above, but still don't see the poll, please reload the page. Polls are only loaded when the page loads. Q: Is there a way to see updates on the voting results?A: No. However, in some cases, after voting is completed, the admin team may publish the results.

I have just finished a game with all 4 players dealing with lag and disconnect issues that ends with the game reset to start and the extension " /0/1 " at the end of the web address with the game number on it. Also an error message that goes away before you get the chance to read it appears near the upper right. Can anyone help figure this out ? Thank You : Double

Dear all, I'm sure you've noticed recently that an account created, with the titular name, less than a month ago has rapidly risen to the top of the FFA Rapid Leaderboards. It has been said by many including notably vocal players like @JustinD7 that the legacy ratings over 3000 are simply not possible to attain with this new system and hence players like myself and Rojitto have ratings that do not accurately reflect our abilities with this new system. As some will notice I haven't played a rated rapid FFA game in well over 6 months and this has added further flames to the rumours that the reason I am not playing has nothing to do with the merge and its resulting affects on the rating system and starting position but entirely due to not wanting to "lose my rating" as it is simply unattainable in this current climate. Simply put this eventually really got to me as the reasons for all the work starting up the league with @LosChessquire along with others plus my abstaining from playing and streaming 4pc in its current conditions are being overshadowed by the remarks about caring too much about my rating and how I will not be able to achieve it if I start playing again. This is simply untrue and the reasons are entirely down to the issues with 4pc currently however I thought that it be best to put an end to these rumours so that the community has no other option but to believe what I am claiming. Well, for those of you who haven't guessed by now the account AnotherShortStory is in fact my verified alt account. The account was able to achieve an over 3000 rating in 259 games within 29 days of being created surpassing every players account who dared to suggest that this feat is simply unattainable and those who started these rumours that have been undermining the reasons for why I stopped playing in the first place. If I really wanted to I have 0 doubt that I could bring it up to 3100 however at this point I have no need nor care to do so. The account has now served its purpose and you will not be seeing it frequent the ffa rapid games anymore and hence why I am telling you this. Understand that the big issues that 4PC faced during the merge are still very prevalent today with the existence of the solo format, changed starting position and most importantly the administrative teams decision to completely ignore the wishes of the community and those who care about the game in order to further their own agenda that is not in line with the direction the game needs to head in order to grow and gain popularity. For everyone who is interested in playing high quality games I suggest you seriously consider signing up to the 4 Player Chess League www.4playerchessleague.com if you want to both play with the best and learn from them in a format that is much more suited to what the community itself wants and not what a handful of people with control decide for you. Regards, Jai
