Almost every single position I see is symmetrical, or at least appears to be following some aesthetical conventions. People tend to like aesthetic positions over chaotic ones. Yet the thing is, a chaotic position that is well-designed is usually way more balanced than a symmetrical position. Zugzwang is too unlikely to occur in teams or to a greater extent, FFA. However, BG may stand an equal chance against RY if they have asymmetrical armies. Let me elaborate on some ideas that are commonly discarded by creators for being "unaesthetic", "weird" or "likely unbalanced": FFA variants: 1. A slight handicap for green. I am talking about a very slight handicap, like a slight positional advantage or an extra weak piece in some positions. Since teaming is likely to occur at a high level, and good coordination is absent, a slight handicap that is too difficult to use in lower levels is a good idea. 2. Different armies for RY/BG. This is pretty interesting, yet highly difficult to implement in practice. However, the weaker side should have more defensive capabilities so that a strong player may carry out in case of poor coordination. It is also important to have an equal promotion for all players. Making such a game without rather quick promotions (i.e. 6 squares to promotion) is highly difficult. 3. Four completely different armies, or three different armies. Basically, these two are highly similar yet incredibly difficult to implement. The gameplay must be balanced in all stages for all players, which is nearly impossible to accomplish. Still, this type of position is incredibly broad and can have a whole ton of different position concepts subsumed. This is like the "other side" of positions, something untouched but having even more flying space. Teams: 1. Two different armies, symmetrical armies for each. Each team has a symmetrical army, however, two teams have generally different armies. One of the most unique, easier-to-implement, and exciting games. 2. Two versus one team: one player is effectively useless, the other has a single stronger army. However, two other players have weaker pieces but are on the same team. This concept is contrary to a common misconception, not an FFC, but rather a highly difficult concept. The long-term issue of two players being on a team is a highly vital one, that's why the single player should usually be notably stronger. 3. Entirely different piece setup for each player on a team: this is the most difficult thing to implement in teams, yet the most interesting one: there are incredibly many imbalance possibilities, various concepts, and ideas to be implemented. This is way easier to implement the FFA counterpart, yet notably more difficult than the previous types-of-a-kind. This field subsumes a lot of concepts and is less restricted than the FFA counterpart due to the general absence of more game stages where an imbalanced start plays a larger role. Antichess counterparts of this are also present, yet I won't really enumerate them here due to extreme difficulty of implementing them and overall due to difficulties of implementing balanced antichess FFA or teams position.

I Note that the king isnt that of a target with the new walls, so maybe 2+ so there is less king-koth and eventually more pawn-koth. and 2. Sometimes i feel there is not much to do on the position so i would ad an alibaba or knight, or both. What do you think? Should i rather do what i have already?

This is an extremely difficult concept that once had been an ADC, but later was correctly re-classified as an FFC. And right now I am talking about an extremely infamous concept that many creators in the past tried to unsuccessfully implement: I am talking about this king and wall configuration in the center for FFA/Solo. While some of you may think that this should be automatically declined for having resignations deciding the entire gameplay, there is more to this. Firstly, it is straightly impossible to implement this only with KoTH as the sole rule. Even if you block off all the squares with other pieces, mating will still be too luck-based and resignations would still be a verdict. The only way to implement this well would be via having takeover or antichess as a gamerule. Some names very specifically refer to the nature of the position, and as such, cannot be used for many other positions. I will list the opposite of these: names which you can slap onto any position with minimal defining characteristics. "World War IV" "Dangerous Intersection" (the name of the chess.com badge for playing a 4PC game) any famous battle or siege that has not too many unique things about it (Thermopylae counts as too unique, for example. it can only be used for the "last stand" kinda positions, like the one by noahfavelo which bears that name). "Ambush" "Earthquake" (many natural disasters work) "Epicenter" "The Convergence" "The Graveyard of Dreams" "Entropy" honestly any book, movie, or song name that's remotely related to your position and isn't too obscure works nicely "Primordial Soup" "The Hunt" "Redemption" any biome really, bonus points if it's actually related lmao anything works just don't use position elements

ive improved the position with a few ideas from me and others who sent me feedback, so i will share the position again. if something else must be done, tell me and i will try to improve. So, the first aspect to notice is that, as suggested by @ P_K_R_M I switched the colors so this tempo can be used to save from mate. Another fact is that i changed the checks for everyone. The king has 4 checks (instead of 3) and the pawn has 10 (instead of 15) near the end of the blue and green carpets (this is the name i will use from now on to describe the royal road aka the ranks where the pawns are placed) i added a dead pawn to make it easier to promote (=CRBN). At the end of the carpets, there are friendly pieces, a grasshopper and a blocked rook. finally, i added an extra wazir to the queen barrier, but owned the teams' king player. I have already tested it extensively, but need help to find a name and suitable time control. I am open to any suggestions, but I hope that people have played the game or looked through the game links above. Also, an explanation would be nice . The general theme is to remove your opponents defenders and reach CTKOTH. Mates on the alibaba can also determine the victor. 8th=H doesn't play a huge role in most games (surprisingly), but it could turn a tight match. The level of sharpness is comparable to standard teams, but the length is somewhat shorter (rarely over 12-13 moves). Names: I have received many name suggestions, but none have really stuck. Some involved the spinning nature of the game, or CTKOTH. Here are few of them: Einstein's Cross (astronomical reference) Sufi Dance (can't remember what it is) Whirlpool Singularity Air Nest I am open to all name suggestions, or putting in a vote for one of these. Time Control: Nearly all of my testing games were played in 2|15D, because I hoped to draw in standard teams players. I now see that the game is shorter than standard teams. I may still opt for this time control, so that time is not a concern in the game. I am always biased towards more time, but any suggestions would be considered (please, no hyper).

Anyway, I played this game a couple times in the car with comfuters and myself at times. I actually really enjoyed it, but at the same time it seems like an awful position. The ideas i wanted to use were the no royal unless you wanted one for koth, and using your strong pieces to link up to help your weaker ones. I wanted the game to be about scoring the most points and for everyone to always still be alive (with a pawn and a big piece, you can still checkmate all three players).
