Hello! Sorry to disturb but I got an open tournament tomorrow and I really need tips on how to stay focused during a game since I often find my mind drifting off after opening and middle game. I need ways to keep my mind focused on the game and keep myself keep thinking about moves even if it's not my move.

Hello, I am aware that ratings are updated on the 1st of each month but if I completed an online tournament not too long ago, is there a way where I am able to check the results of that tournament on uscf?

Hello Chess.com players! I was just wondering how to advance leagues. I advanced from Wood Division to Stone Division. I was thinking it was because of my puzzles, games, or tournaments. I am not sure why I advanced. Can someone please explain? Thanks, Manasvi
Hey everyone! This afternoon I received an email from the US Chess Federation email address saying that I had been shortlisted for the internship program at US Chess, and that my “application stood out among an overwhelming number of impressive candidates.” The only thing is, I never submitted an application! I’ve received a handful of other emails from that address in the past, so I doubt that it’s pure spam. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hello, everyone! I'd like to get a chess coach sometime before maybe October, but I know this takes a lot of thought. I'm willing to try different ones, but first I wanted suggestions. I'd prefer: -Online Lessons. I decided it will have more options and be easier for me (who's unable to drive just yet), to participate in lessons. -Personal Coach. I think personal coaching with be easier for me to gain from. -Highly Rated Player. >1800 (USCF) would be nice, just so I don't have to replace coaches, and so it's more official training. Please and thank you!

I was typing in "chess.com" in the URL and I mis clicked "chess.co" in the URL. The website then says that a virus has been detected. I immediately closed the tab, but do additional measures need to be taken?

I've been thinking of entering a tournament to see how good, or bad, I really am. I don't play much OTB so I am looking forward to the experience, although a little trepidatious. I believe I have to make notation, which I've never done before, though I'm aware of how to do it. I just can't image it with a board with no A-H or 1-8 on it! For those players who are tournament savvy, what are some of the things you wish you had known before your first, or what advise can you offer someone who is looking to do their first? BTW, I usually play either 10 minute rapid or 3 day correspondence games currently. I have no interest in blitz or anything like that.

I have a different type of question; if you went to philidelphia during the world open chess festival, how many different tournaments could you play in your stay, and what are they in order? Byes are allowed

I tried checking my USCF profile and it told me that my data could be leaked, is anyone else having this problem?

I usually play 10 minute rapid games, no increment and what really annoys me are: Blitzers. Those people who are either premoving pretty much every move or just just every piece not matter what. More times times than not I end up winning because they do something stupid like hang their queen and they just resign or get back ranked check mated. Here's an example. My opponent make 33 moves in less than 3 minutes. https://www.chess.com/game/live/104874081273 Yeah, I still suck, but I'd be interested in hearing what annoys other people and maybe an example game.

As a USCF club TD, I have a player who can cause disruptions both verbally by muttering to themselves in a fashion that can be heard by all the player in the small hall. Or by slaming the pieces and/or clock on occasion? I am aware of the various rules around disruptions including 20N1, however after having spoken to this player about the behavior, they have claimed that it is due in part to a medical condition. We want to be careful to not discriminate against this player, and have considered moving them to a different playing area, but we are concerned about it still affecting their opponent. Does anyone have any advice, or is there a more appropriate forum to discuss this type of issue.

Theres the Electronic Knights , the Golden Knights but how about the chess.com knights Chess.com is easier to use, and they have cheating detection, which means games will finish quicker

Will the regristration change if we dont stay at the rosen shingle creaak
I’m new and searched the forum but couldn’t find this answer, are the U1450 tournaments USCF rated? I also noticed that they are not marked with the “***” as the open tournaments are. Does this mean anything other than they are open only to those with a U1450 Chess.com rating?
