Just trying to answer his endless question.

real answer is: no

sports make people healthier.. but chess makes you sick, makes you lose hair.. and it gives you nothing in return.

you just use extensive memory and cpu power just to have some 'fun'.. still it doesn't pay off the effort.

it causes more and more problem than it solves, you get to have fun in the process? hardly.. very hardly.. maybe momentarily after some matches then it makes you upset in the next match.. it never changes

You are describing life not chess.

Let's settle this once and for all. happy if chess is a sport, sad if it is not.

Not if you want to be competitive you have to make sacrifices. I would rather be bald then have arthritis knees from football

is there any other way to play chess? playing against bots? you cant even get a elo without playing real opponents.. chess is designed to play with humans, so it is competitive by its nature.. winning is based on mistakes.

how can this be a choice?
