GM Ian Nepomniachtchi won the week 25 Swiss of the Rapid Chess Championship presented by Coinbase.
Participating in the event were 48 competitors—open to all GMs as well as the top-10 women, top-10 juniors, as well as 10 wildcards. The final knockout takes place on August 14, starting at 9 a.m. PT / 18:00 CEST.
Nepomniachtchi won first with an undefeated 6.5 points. GMs Wesley So, Benjamin Bok, Jose Martinez, and Olexandr Bortnyk won second to fifth, also with 6.5. GMs Hikaru Nakamura, Samuel Sevian, and Hans Niemann clinched the last three qualification spots with the top tiebreaks of players with six points.
