Hey, so I've been working on a Gothic/Seirawan-style variant, with more minor pieces to balance out the Chancellor and Archbishop. This particular setup isn't final (I find the row in front of the pawns gets too crowded), but I've been having a peculiar problem. For some reason I don't know, it seems the white space indicated in the screenshots (e8, I think) isn't accessible at all. It acts like a brick, not allowing pieces to move into or through it. Has anyone experienced something like this before, or know how to fix it?

Why don't Chess.com make an AI for less popular variants???? What do you think???
I'm curious how people play these variants OTB. Obviously stuff like KOTH and 3+check is easy to figure out but I'm more curious about these variants with unique pieces and obscure board sizes. 4 player boards are widely available now, as is 10x10 and even 12x12 as those are a mainstay of international draughts and Canadian checkers. But for instance, XXL chess is a 14x14 board and Gothic chess is 8x10. Also, I see plenty of Chaturaji sets on ETSY and other places but oddly enough can't find a good Chaturanga set. Often the two get conflated in some form or another but an authentic vintage looking Chaturanga set would look great with the elephant, chariot and minister. Then there's the matter of pieces. I actually found on chess house they sell a Capablanca Chess Set -- https://www.chesshouse.com/products/capablanca-style-chess-set-with-checkers?gclid=CjwKCAjwyNSoBhA9EiwA5aYlb7eanGubm_Gde0IUNwnHm3tlidbk2Q8WZ3fDmdAXLi-rcCyTKtIv8BoCJ5oQAvD_BwE and House of Staunton has a very nice but rather pricy set as well, equipped with some very elegant looking archbishops and chancellors -- https://www.houseofstaunton.com/chess-pieces/capablanca-chess-pieces/the-capablanca-edition-reykjavik-ii-series-chess-set-3-75-king.html These 10x10 boards can double as checker boards but the unique design of these variant pieces make it a very distinctive set I would love to get my hands on. I suppose you can also use this for Gothic Chess (the improvement to Capablanca Chess) but you'd have to limit yourself to 8 ranks instead of 10 but the file count is correct. Also, you know have the two extra pieces to play Seirawan Chess (the other improvement to Seirawan Chess) OTB. However, XXL chess has many other pieces that I doubt can be found. Are there any DIY suggestions to create a set with these esoteric pieces? I wonder what a Dragon bishop would look like? I love collecting pieces and different boards so it would be cool to expand my inventory to more obscure variants. I suppose one could take up woodworking and make whatever they want themselves which is something I would love to take up but time is limited these days and I'm not sure I have time for another hobby (chess sure takes up a lot of it to begin with lol). But let me know if anyone has any links to variant pieces, some ideas to play variants OTB or anyone's in person variant stories.

The Absolute Monarch is a royal piece with inverted rules whereby check is it attacking another piece and the victory condition is for it to capture or attack a piece which cannot escape.

Most times that I try to play a live game or any variant of chess, it says that I am unable to connect. It has connected several times before and I am not sure why it will not connect.

Why was Blue allowed to claim a win in this game:https://www.chess.com/variants/custom/game/54609075 According to the rules, the last remaining player will be given 40 points for each enemy king left on the board. However, there were two kings worth 80 points.
How do you invite someone to a game of a chess variant that is not common, such as courier chess, Ashtandrez etc.? Please screenshot

I believe lots of people want daily time controls.
1: fairy stockfish: allows you to play any variant in any moment and also allows you to play your own variants and custom positions 2: create custom pieces: allows you to make custom pieces using the movements of pieces that already exists and/or drawing arrows on the board to set the movements, set the value of the piece and using a png image for the image of the piece

https://www.chess.com/variants/spell-chess/game/54012479/17/3 Is it intended that the bishop is able to do a double jump here? I did not know that this was possible.
