Gigachess 2 how to play: https://www.chessvariants.com/rules/gigachess-ii

Right now for stalemate, in the case of 2 players there is the option for the stalemated to receive the points, the opponent to receive the points, or for both players to share the points, but in the case of more than 2 players there is only the option for either the stalemated player to receive the points or for the remaining players, including the stalemated player to receive the points. This means that in order for only the opponent to receive the points in the 2 player stage the game must start as a 2 player game instead of reducing to 2 players from a game that starts with more than 2 players. I think that for games with more than 2 players there should be the option for only the remaining opponents to receive the points, with the stalemated player receiving no points.

Chess... with a deck of cards??? - How to play. The rules are the same as regular chess, except for these changes. For a refresher of those rules, check out this video. Lay out the board and set it up as a regular chess game. Shuffle the deck and put it next to the board. Take 5 cards from the deck to your hand (and tell the opponent to do the same thing), then play as normal. You must move at least one piece to end your turn. When playing, you can play your card(s) instead of making a normal move. There are lots of card types in the game, and here are some of them: March on!: In your turn, you can move 2 pawns at the same turn or 1 pawn twice. [Last: 1 turn] As fast as a ninja: In your turn, you can move 1 piece (or pawn) twice. [Last: 1 turn] Double attack: In your turn, you can move 2 pieces (2 pieces - 0 pawns; 1 piece - 1 pawn; 0 pieces - 2 pawns) at the same turn. [Last: 1 turn] Allahu Akbar!: When you capture a piece, the captured piece "exploded" (like Atomic chess). [Last: 1 turn] Sniper: In your turn, you can capture a piece without moving. [Last: 1 turn] Bomb thrower: Work as a combination of Allahu Akbar! and Sniper. [Last: 1 turn] Res-pawn: In your turn, put a pawn from the opponent's piece-capture zone (where his/her put your captured piece) back to the board, and end your turn. [Last: 1 turn] Pawn killer: In your turn, capture an opponent's pawn and end your turn. [Last: 1 turn] Teleporter: In your turn, move one piece to any empty square on the board. [Last: 1 turn] Advance forward: In your turn, your pawn can move 1 more square straight forward. [Last: 1 turn] Amazon warrior: In your turn, your queen can move as an Amazon (combination of Queen and Knight). [Last: 1 turn] Black hole: In your turn, every piece on the inner-centre squares will be removed from the board. [Last: 1 turn] Block!: In your opponent's turn, block every effect (from the opponent's cards). [Last: 1 turn] No woman in war: In your opponent's turn, the queen can only move 1 square diagonally. [Last: 1 turn] Demote to animals: In your opponent's turn, the bishop can only move 2 squares diagonally (as the Elephant). [Last: 1 turn] Welcome to Japan!: In your opponent's turn, the knight can only move 2 squares vertically AND 1 square horizontally (as the Katsura Horse ~ Shogi Horse). [Last: 1 turn] Ice age: In your opponent's turn, the piece can only move to the furthest square in the selected direction. [Last: 1 turn] The rules of physic: After you play this card, the rooks can't even move and capture anymore. [Last: forever, can't be blocked] Model mothers for the world: After you play this card, the queen can only move and capture 1 square orthogonally (vertically or horizontally) OR jump 2 squares diagonally (as a Chu Shogi Phoenix). [Last: forever, can't be blocked] Blank: Unaffected. In the 1st turn, if you draw 5 Blank, you win immediately. [Last: 1 turn] ... (These are 20 cards I made. Comment yours below!) The first player to capture their opponent's king wins!

I think that when creating custom positions it should be possible to place teleports on the board and connect the teleports. I think being able to land on a square with a teleport should not be required for a piece to pass through a teleport. I'm thinking that some effects that teleports could have would be 1. Effective lateral connections between two squares so that it is as if one teleport is one square in front, behind or to the side of another teleport. For instance in this example if the two grey rooks represent two connected teleports, and the teleport on f11 is treated as being one square in front of the teleport on j6 the red knight could move to any square occupied by a dead knight. In this case the knight could teleport when passing through the square occupied by the teleport but it wouldn't be required to. So it would be as if there are two squares in front of j6. 2. Effective diagonal connections between two teleports For instance if the grey bishops represent two teleports that are connected and the teleport on h6 is treated as being 1 square behind and one square to the right of the teleport on i9 then the dead alfil-riders represent all but one of the squares the blue alfil-rider could move to, with the blue alfil rider also able to land on the teleport on h6. In this case the alfil rider could move to twice the number of squares it normally could implying that teleports on opposite colors may increase the values of normally color bound pieces. 3. Effective rotations For instance if the grey walls represent two connected teleports then the grey bishops would represent every square the green bishop could land on except for the squares the teleports would be on. In this case passing through the teleport would divert the bishops movement 90 degrees clockwise. or in this example if the clear walls represent connected teleports and the grey camels represent squares the yellow camel could move to then passing through the teleport would reverse the camels direction. I think it should also be possible to connect a teleport to multiple other teleports, at least if the ways it connects to each other teleport is different.

Does anyone play on the chess variant site Greenchess.net?

I was thinking that there should be an option to customize the forward direction of a pawn independently of the color of the pawn. A suggestion I have for how to customize the pawn directions is to allow the game creator to place an arrow over a pawn to specify what direction the pawn would treat as forward. For instance in this position if a left arrow was placed over the red pawn then the pawn could move to g2 even if sideways pawns was not enabled as it would treat g2 as being the square immediately in front of it. With a left arrow placed on the red pawn if there was something on g1 or g3 the pawn could capture it, but could not capture something on i3. I was thinking that all pawns that treat the same direction as forward could have the same promotion squares regardless of color. For instance if the blue pawn had a right arrow it would promote on the squares a yellow pawn would normally promote as it would treat the same direction as forward as a yellow pawn normally would.

I saw the new "who is streaming button" and I was wondering how to get yourself added there because I would like to stream atomic.
There used to be a variant (I believed called something like Automatic Chess) where you would set up pieces in some configuration and the engine would play out the position. Is there a way to still play this variant on Chess.com? I cannot find it in the Variants section. Thank you

I've been on 3: fog of war, giveaway, and atomic. I was wondering the leaderboard tally of other people. Has anyone else been on more? I didn't make this out of ego- it's just that i'm curious like a cat. ;P Also extra points if you have been on more than one at the same time .
Obviously the pieces are weaker in this variant (Reminds me a lot of Xiangqi), which results in much slower games. But I am not sure how good the pieces are in relation to each other. I will post what my initial impression is according to the standard chess scale (Queen = 9, pawn = 1), if there are any experienced players reading, I would love your input! Chariot-5 King-3.5 (Based on power) Knight-2.5 Ferz-1.5 Alfil-0.5 Pawn-0.5 One interesting thing to note is that your king is the 2nd strongest piece so you must use it to attack! Pawns are much worse because they cannot promote or move 2 squares on turn 1 Alfils are just as useless only having access to 8 squares Knights are worse because they can't occupy outposts as easily
I was thinking about how antichess isn't really the opposite of standard chess as the objective of standard chess isn't to capture all of your opponents pieces but to checkmate your opponent. I think something that could make for an interesting variant is one, with the opposite objective as standard chess, in which you win by getting checkmated.
https://www.chess.com/variants/custom/game/27051910/98/2 Apparently, it says "draw" but my opponent received the 600 points. Even though a draw should mean points are tied.
people who use knights in atomic are pussys

On the main site there are lessons on how to move the standard chess pieces followed by challenges that involve just practicing moving a specific type of piece. I think it would be beneficial to beginners if there was an analog section of the variants site, in which would have a lesson for each fairy piece followed by practice problems involving moving the piece.

I think it would be interesting to add checkers pieces to variants, as they capture by jumping over enemy pieces instead of by landing on the square of an enemy piece and can capture multiple pieces at a time. I would be curious to see what the value of checkers pieces would be in chess variants when combined with other pieces and pawns.

I wanted to play it, but I cant find it on variants page, where do I play it?

how tf do you get unbanned from variants?
Ieatmud109 May 13, 2022
Only the first king that get captured should be valued 3 points. The second should be valued 4 points, and finally the third 5 points. The reasoning is that the most skilled players "last" longer on the board.
