I suppose some of this things are already requested, but not sure which so i will write down everything in my mind. Currently the communication options are just terrible. Chatting is way too slow and ineffective for the dynamics of bughouse. So some kind of sound related buttons will be great. Also it can be implanted some sort of team speak instead of the buttons. An easy way to feed your partner moves - for example in FICS when you simply move on your partner's board he sees the move as a suggestion. The majority of players here are under 1700 and if you can't communicate fast and easy and feed them moves as well you just can't have a normal game. Predrop a piece you don't have yet. This is very important for cross mates situations where your partner can take a piece for you to mate but he gets mated in one. So his opp premoved the mate and you cannot predrop a mate. It also will be very usefull in flag fights, because when i want to drop a piece which is yet to come i will lose like 2 seconds instead if instant predrop. A draw option. There was a discussion on this topic which i didn't follow closely, but it's pretty clear to me we need a draw. If your opponent gets you in perpetual check at the moment it's equal to checkmate. He can just repeat it a 100 times until a mating piece comes up. Draw by mutual agreement is also a good option in situations of cross mates in 1 which i described above. Equality of the your board and your partner's board. They should be same size, because bughouse is one game and both boards are equally important. Formula for bughouse for example i don't want to play for +0 neither to get partnered with under 1800 players when i seek a partner and opps.
I am simply repeating Fischer's ideas. But so far no one has voiced them. Bughouse 960. The main advantage is cutting off opening decisions (and preliminary moves at the beginning of the game). Accordingly, you need to think from the first move. This will give variety.

Hello lovely Bughouse fans, this is a game that I have recently playedhttps://www.chess.com/game/live/102278612701 Please, new players and those with a three digit rating know how to play bughouse it is not fun anymore. Many players do not know the rules like how to place pieces on the board or how to use chat.So please watch a video on youtube or whatever but I beg you do not join randomly the bughouse server and ruin the games for others. (this is not only my opinion I had many opp who have been partnered with a bad partner who told me the same)Thanks

We developed an engine to generate bughouse puzzles and a website where you can improve at bughouse by doing puzzles: https://bughouse.ca/The puzzles require interaction with your partner, e.g. you can ask or give them pieces, to simulate a real game. We hope you like it. We plan to add new kinds of puzzles in the future and new features. Suggestions are also welcomed!
i keep staying around 1800-1850 rating. Thanks!
hi guys, who wants to join a bughouse server? https://discord.gg/vAbP4Pt The House used to be an "only bug" server but it's now opened to all variants! It's very useful for bughouse players since they can find partners more easily and even create a vocal chat whit their partners which improves game communication and makes it even more fun there are already lot of well-known players, join us!

Is there any place you can go to LF a partner like a discord, ideally with voice chat? Sick of partners who don't listen and sick of tilting from 2200.

So...I guess it's all automated here on chess.com, that when someone reports anyone for any offense that no one (admis) bother to check to see if there was a reason(evidence perhaps) for the report? I guess it's funny that someone would report me for sandbagging(good joke actually I laughed) But I've been playing in the tournaments for years and have had my rating all over the place. Just a thought.
When I play bughouse games, if the other team has a low rated player the higher rated player will resign. It gets annoying.

Ok guys, these are some tips I will give you. So, first tip, there is an idea that you could sacrifice on f7/f2. you need knights and pawns for this to work. So, ask you partner to give you knights and pawns. You should sacrifice on f7/f2 with a minor piece. If not, your attack might be weak. The second tip I want to give you is don't castle that often. If you do, there are ideas where the opponent puts his/her pawn on h3/h6. They will try to open your king and mate it. I know you don't want to get into that mess! Last but not least, don't go g3/g6/b3/b6 if you do, you might face issues where they put their pawns into the hole. Please, please don't risk it! That is it guys, have a good day or night wherever you are, just make sure to have a good day.

I know this would be a standard algorithm for matching into swiss tournament. However, shouldn't the blocked player be given less priority to be matched as pair? one or two game's fine, but the whole tournament makes it annoying considering the fact we would have had to block the person for some valid reason. What if I had blocked the person citing non-cooperation / stalling games. Now since the position (of both players) will remain constant throughout the tournament after being paired, as either both win or both lose. Why should I suffer just because we have won/lose similar number of games?

So, I joined an Arena. I'd lined up a partner. But because he was finishing a Crazyhouse tourney, he wasn't in the Bug tourney yet. So, I was hooked up with another player as partner. Soon, my (agreed) partner joined the Arena tourney. Suddenly, I'm in that game! With that partner. My other game didn't end. It continued!, but I couldn't see the game.I could hear my partner's tells, which became desperate "please move" requests. But I could do nothing. Eventually, we lost on time.Very weird! Has anyone else seen this? I submitted a Bug Report. I suggested: Don't have a player playing two games at once. It's not good for the player, and really not good for their partner. If a player is partnered with someone, don't pair them in any games until the partner joins the tourney. Bughouse Arena should not start immediately after the Crazyhouse Arena. Many of us play both, and it can make it difficult to coordinate playing with partner in the BugArena.

It's happened a few times.In a Crazyhouse tourney, watching a game, I'll see both players piling up the pieces to drop. It gets to an endgame. Either player could easily win by dropping something with check, but…no.They play it out. None of the drop pieces gets used. Here's one example: [Event "Live Chess - Crazyhouse"][Site "Chess.com"][Date "2023.02.25"][Round "?"][White "NN"][Black "NN"][Result "1-0"][Variant "Crazyhouse"][ECO "A00"][WhiteElo "1054"][BlackElo "256"][TimeControl "180"][EndTime "6:25:54 PST"][Termination "NN won on time"] 1. e4 d6 2. Nf3 Bg4 3. d4 Bxf3 4. Qxf3 e6 5. Bc4 Nc6 6. d5 Nd4 7. Qd3 e5 8. Nc3Be7 9. Be3 c5 10. O-O-O h6 11. Na4 Bg5 12. c3 Bxe3+ 13. fxe3 a6 14. exd4 exd415. cxd4 cxd4 16. Qxd4 Qg5+ 17. Kb1 Qg4 18. g3 Nf6 19. e5 Ne4 20. Rhe1 Nf2 21.Qxg4 Nxg4 22. exd6+ Kd7 23. Re7+ Kxd6 24. Rxf7 Rhd8 25. Rxb7 Rac8 26. Nb6 Rc627. Bxa6 Nf2 28. Rc1 Rdc8 29. dxc6 Rxc6 30. Rxc6+ Kxc6 31. Rxg7 Kxb6 32. Rg6+Kc5 33. Rxh6 Nd3 34. g4 Kd5 35. g5 Ne5 36. g6 Nxg6 37. Rxg6 Ke4 38. Kc2 Ke3 39.Kc3 Kf3 40. Re6 Kg2 41. Rf6 Kxh2 42. Rg6 Kh3 43. Kd3 Kh4 44. Ke3 Kh5 45. Rg1 Kh646. Kf3 Kh7 47. Kf4 Kh6 48. Kf5 Kh5 49. Rh1+ 1-0 Evidently, not knowing they can drop a piece to parry the check, Black loses on time. (If you analyze this game with Stockfish, you'll see the eval pingpong back-and-forth, like +64 to -64 with every move. Beautiful.) I mean, they join a tourney…and they don't know the rules of the game they're playing! Love it. Just yesterday, I was in a Crazyhouse tourney. I dropped a piece with check, and my opponent asked (something like) "Wait. Where do you get that extra piece?" (Got it from you, buddy.)

…When the Arena Bug goes away (again).Yeah, recently I was in a 1-hour Bughouse Arena. After 20 minutes, nobody could get any games scheduled! Those who bothered to wait around…kept waiting…and waiting… I've submitted a Bug Report. I encourage others to do the same. This bug was a pain in the PITA a few months ago, but it got fixed. Now, cheezcom has UNfixed it. Because FICS is moribund, so nobody can bug anywhere else. So, yeah, when (if) this bug ever gets fixed, please let us know.

I can't imagine why--I am a fantastic chess player, and just an awesome guy in general. But if you think I have bad breath or whatever, just click on my profile name, then the "More" box with three dots, and finally select "Block" on the pulldown. I will then be completely dead to you.

So if I try to look at a past Bughouse game from my archive like this one, it just gets all crazy. First, the board shows up in starting position, and there are squares highlighted in yellow. Second, it only goes to White's 11th move or something, and then that's all that shows up. UPDATE: I have now determined that the moves stop when the first piece is placed from the "piece bank." That first placement, along with the rest of the moves after that, do not show up!
