Hello, dear team of chess.com! First of all, I would like to say thank you for the new application. It is great. However, there are some things which are absent and they are very important for the end user. There should be some kind of progress bar when application refreshes the list of online games: on previous app there was a refresh button which played the role of progress bar when pressed. The gestures are cool, but sometimes there should be asked a confirmation for some actions like creating a challenge: after update I was observing the new design and when I tried to return to the main page I accidently created a challenge by making a move on the finished game. Not a big deal, but such things are usually should be confirmed. To be honest, the suggestion to create a challenge on the main page is annoying. I agree that it can be useful for some people, so I suggest to make an option which hides it. Thanks again for the great work! I will for sure continue my membership to support your efforts. I have a galaxy Note 1 (android 2.3.5) and after downloading the latest version ( 3.0.176) strangely exibits the message "The application (process com.chess)unexpectedly has stopped working" every time I try to run it. Have unistalled and installed againg with no success. It is the first time an app behavior like this in my cell phone. Any clue?
Title says it all really. I can't find any instructions anywhere on Chess.Com about how to install the App to play my Online and Live games on my phone (whilst on holiday.) There doesn't seem to be a Chess.Com app in the phone Marketplace and if I go to Chess.Com Internet page on the phone and trawl through to the Android page (this one http://www.chess.com/play/android ) and try the link there, I get lots of 'security error' messages and nothing more. Help!

On my mobile phone I have 350 Megabytes of Internet per month. I use it to play on chess.com, and rarely for other stuff. With the old app, 350 MB was enough for the whole month. When the new app appeared, I exceeded the limit after 8 days(!), and I can't play on mobile phone anymore... Is there anything I can do about that? Can I get back to the old version, or anything else?

Hi ! Why in the current version of Android app. I can't access to the groups features like notes, forums, team matches ... or tournaments ? I hope you consider that in the next update. Thanks

Dear chess.com crew, I have been a member of chess.com community for 1.5 year now and have been actively using Android and iOS applications. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that mobile versions of the applications (iOS, Android) and the site are not your priority at all. Surfing on chess.com site using a tablet or a smartfon is...a horrible exercise. The site is not optimized for mobiles in any way. When I confront a list of features between chess.com and mobiles I have only one conclusion. Mobile applications are far behind and after 1.5 year of stagnation it looks like there is no real hope to see an improvement. These days it is almost hard to believe that someone can neglect mobile users. Therefore, can you guys explain the current situation? Going a bit further, chess.com application for Android is full of annoying bugs. Let me point some of them: I set a language to 'English' as polish traslation is a joke. Seriously, it looks to me that you simply used 'google translate' for this purpose. Examples? 'Nie można uczynić ruchy dopiero na wakacjach', 'Urlop koniec', 'wygrał', 'stracił'. Let me know if I can translate it for you for free. Not a big deal, but please do not pretend as if you had a polish translation... Even with a language fixed to 'English' sometimes the application switches spontinously to 'Polish'. Notifications are very important to me. Unfortunately, very often when I click a notification I am brought to a gameborad which is not pointing to a correct game and a layout of the pieces is rather...random. Can we count that the issues will ever be fixed? Can we expect major updates any soon? Best regards, Dominik
hi Guys... im using galaxy grand duos, installed chess.com from playstore, and running perfectly!! my question is : comparing to using laptop and login from site chess.com, i can watching/following top rated games in Play Live!! but from android, i can NOT follow it, i just find STAT and TIME, so how could i follow rated games in Play Live from android?

Hi chess.com, It's so unfair that PC mouse users have tremendous advantage in blitz when playing against players on Android Touchscreen. The reason is that Mouse users can hold a piece in advance even before the opponent finishes its current move. That's what we also (legally) do in OTB blitz making the response almost instant. Android Touchscreen players on-the-other-hand can't hold its piece in advance unless the opponent finishes its move. The dissadvantage becomes obvious as time is running out. For that reason I suggest a fair play by allowing Android users to touch its next move in Advance. Note: I'm not talking about pre-move. Thanks
The Facebook sign in process doesn't work quite right on Android. On my Nexus 4 as well as Nexus 7, when I sign in using Facebook, after a while, the session times out, but the button still says "Logged In", and the logout button is visible. I have to go to Settings, and log out and then log back in to continue playing. There needs to be some kind of indiciation that the session has expried and the user needs to be automatically logged out, so that you don't have to go to Settings each time to logout in order to sign back in.
Hi, I was playing a game from my Android phone. http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=68224218 After black move #40, we reached a "draw by repetition" position (see black moves #36, 38 and 40). So, I clicked "offer draw". But afterwards my opponent could continue playing. How is working the claim for "draw by repetition" ? If anyone would have a little time to spare on the subject, could we play a not-rated game for testing purposes ? Cheers, Tittom

I recently was offered a free premium trial and I notice that tactics doesn't work very well. I don't know if it is an app issue or just because I'm on a trial, but whenever I complete a tactic it usually sends me straight back to the home screen before I have a chance to hit the Next Tactic button. When I click Tactics again from the home screen, it shows me the challenge that I just completed, so I end up having to do them 2-3 times before I can hit the "next" button.

Hi all, As we continue to attack bugs in the new Android app, and to assess your valuable feedback, we sometimes find it difficult to reproduce the same issues you are reporting. In such cases, a crash log from your device would be HUGELY valuable in helping us address these issues. Here's how to get one: 1. Check out and install this (free) app: Catlog - Logcat Reader! 2. Open the Chess app and do whatever is required to reproduce the crash/force-close 3. Then just open Catlog and select Menu > Save. 4. Now you can use Catlog's "Share" feature to send the log as an email attachment. For now, please send any logs to deepgreene@gmail.com Easy, right? Many thanks!
Some time ago I have reported the problem with your android app on nook touch rooted. The app functioned well (manually installed, not through play.google) a year ago. But later it started to demand an upgrade. However the nook is not supported in your app. I have already communicated it with app admin, but after I sent specs there is no difference in new releases of app. Have you received my message with the nook touch specs? I would like to use the Chess.com app, unfortunately the version in the Amazon Kindle store (I have a version 1 Kindle Fire) is vverison 1.9x Please update the Amazon store version, or post a link to a downloadable APK when new versions are made available. If there is already a download to the latest versions, can someone tell me where to find it. PS: The Kindle will not download from Google Play, it is blocked from downloads by Amazon's software.
Hi, The Android app gives the possibility to email the PGN of a game. But when it's a Chess960 game, the PGN text does not include the FEN initial position. Is it possible to fix this, please ? Cheers :-) Tittom.
Oh God! How come all of sudden 3 white rooks appear on the board? This is totally disgusting and kills the experience. And of course the frequent connect and disconnect thing also drags the player away to other servers. C´mon Erik! It´s time to invest seriously on this app. Even FICS has a couple of apps that work better than yours. Not to mention the big cats... Think about it!
Sorry....I have just updated to version 2.0.11 and disgustingly the sound bug was not fixed... Is it too hard? This leads to lose games on time since you don't hear anything when the opponent moves....So many updates, so many new and old bugs....

Hello I have an asus nexus 7 tablet and this app is full of bugs in live chess at least..online chess is quite playable but in live chess it always says that it s reconnecting (android version 4.1.2) and when my opponent make a move i think it doesn`t show me immediately.. Thanx for response boss..
