First of all, I can´t but appreciate the work of Alpha Zero team and be thankful to chess.com for making it available.
That said, if they put in the effort to extensively test pawns moving always 1 square, which we all knew that can´t possibly add to chess, why not something like pawns capturing anything that gets in the way (one forward, besides the usual one diagonal). Another (worthwhile?) way to modify openings, middle games and endgames (non-castling and 960, for instance, only affect the opening stage) without bending too much. The tactics as well the overall strategy. Static positions are more or less not possible.
At first I thought balance is an issue, but nah, black is fine, black has a shot even against slightly stronger players.
