How do they manage to detect chess engines????? That's incredible!
What if my gameplay happens to... resemble a chess engine... It doesn't... cause I suck... But I might get better... Up to chess engine standard (incidentally, I can't even beat the Mac chess engine - when it's set to smartest)...

I hate to be the first person in 74 posts to submit something serious about this subject but here goes...
There is "another website" at which players can select [no books or databases allowed] or [books and databases allowed] at the time they post a challenge or start a tournament. Why not make that option available here at chess.com? Of course it would mearly be a courtesy since you couldn't prove whether or not a person used a database. But I think it would satisfy those who prefer to not use databases. And maybe it would put an end to the complaints of, "IT'S - NOT - FAIR!'
