After about 9 months of a rampaging Coronavirus, we've finally arrived at the last month of the year. My birthday is in this month, and it will be coming soon on December 17th. This is my official birthday post, and I'll share a few games from my journey through chess. If you would like to support me, please check these links:

I've played chess for almost 10 years now. I was born in Ontario, Canada and it has always been my home. When I was 4, I started playing chess because I loved how the pieces looked (yes, that is true). I learned how to play chess really fast, until I played my first ever tournament when I was 6 years old. Here is one of my games when I played in my first tournament:

As you can see, I obviously wasn't the best player. But I gradually improved:

And improved:

The ratings above are all CFC (Chess Federation of Canada) ratings. Their chess.com club is https://www.chess.com/club/chess-federation-of-canada and we have just been tagged as an official club! If you are Canadian, please join.

Back to my games. Just before I was 9 years old, I had successfully achieved a rating of 1600 (1626 to be exact) CFC rating, which could be considered to be around 1400 FIDE or 1500-1600 USCF. However, my next tournament rocketed my rating up. Here was one crucial victory in the tournament:

There's a beautiful tactic below, but I just want to say that my opponent in this game has become one of my best friends in chess. He is about the same strength as I am and we both met ever since I was 6. We've played about 50 OTB games already!!

This game I played with amazing skill and amazing finish. I later won 1st (tied) and boosted my rating up to 1800 CFC (1848 to be exact). Now I was ready to reach the 2000's

However, I played extremely horribly in the CYCC (Canadian Youth Chess Championship), so I was preparing for the 2016 NAYCC. It was the tournament that would change my chess career forever. Stay tuned for when I turn 10 years old!

I will see you in my next post .
