Birthday Post #3: Quarantine
Well well well. Here comes my most recent chess achievements and what I have done on chess.com. The quarantine (at least in Canada) started in mid-March. In these 9 months, I have done a lot on chess.com and it is paying off. During the winter break, I'll provide some extra content on Twitch.
Alright, well here is an overview of what I have done.
Late March: Introduced to chess clubs
My friend @bishop_to_e4 invited me to his club called Quarantine Chess Club. I realized what clubs were, and decided to join in on some more fun. At this point in time I was smashing in 3-4 hours a day, mainly because chess was addictive.
March 31st 2020: Foundation of the Random Club
This was my club, I created, I helped, I owned. At this point, it is at 890 members, though its peak was at 940. I decided to shift my focus to school instead (because that it was I'm supposed to do) and also blogging w/ YouTube. It did give me all the knowledge I needed also to continue helping out.
April 2nd 2020: Expert Blitz Tournaments begins its tournaments
At that time, it was amazing. @scaryninja (who sadly had to close) used a lot of time running the club, and every tournament had many players. The peak number of players in a tournament was 34 players. Expert Blitz Tournaments is now unfortunately really inactive as well due to school too. Also, no one is too keen on joining. However, back then, it brought my game interest up!
April 20th 2020: The Top Blogger status
I applied after I did my first blog . It took me 5 days to get it approved after I've done 4 blog posts. Then my blogs actually caught a lot of attention, like this one you are reading, perhaps. I was at 100 profile views before quarantine. Now I am definitely not, and I have a bunch of followers that aren't checking out any of my stuff again.
May 26th 2020: My YouTube Channel
Alright, here was my first YouTube video:
Here is my latest video:
I don't really care how bad my quality, or length of my video was 7 months ago, but I wanted you to pay attention to my voice. Do you hear a difference? If you do, congrats, as you've just witnessed my voice change period! How much do you think I have grown? Big changes, small time!
At this point nothing much changed. My popularity continued to grow and here I am today. Until school came and I became extremely inactive. On average, every blog takes me 3 hours to write. So feel free to do the math on how many days I've spent blogging.
Nov 12th 2020: Twitch is introduced
Honestly, before I started streaming, I thought Twitch was educational (with actual helpful stuff), until the first thing I was recommended when I went into Twitch was Fortnite. Then I realized that there was a lot of boring stuff and I started my Twitch. It has been a little over a month for my Twitch channel, and as of now I have 121 followers and have been affiliated.
If you would like, feel free to follow my Twitch Channel here:
https://www.twitch.tv/chessdemon2019. I stream every Saturday at a predetermined time in my discord (link is here: https://discord.gg/vVajU6jVV3) and Sunday at a predetermined time for educational chess. My YouTube content is also moving to Twitch because I realized Twitch is a lot more popular for chess. So if you like my content, please follow, would be really appreciated. I also have a fan club here.
And there you have it. Quarantine all wrapped up. This concludes my chess adventure until today. I'll see you guys on my next blog post!
Thanks for Reading!!
