Hello I hope you guys are healthy and well. Todays post will be about the best players over 40 years old. This does not include retired players and the players that make this list are all currently still active and player in high level tournaments.

1.Vishy Anand, is a Indian Grandmaster who is still wining even at age 50. Anand won multiple World championships and is one of the greatest chess players of all-time. Anand despite his age is still ranked 16th in the world and is India's number 1 player.

2.Veselin Topalov, is a 45 year old Bulgarian Grandmaster. Topalov won the World Championship in 2005. He is currently rated 19th in the world. Topalov has been one of the best players in the past couple of decades and is one of the greatest Bulgarian players of all time.

3.Peter Svidler, is 43 year old Russian Grandmaster. He won numerous Russian Championships and was also a candidate in The Candidates Tournament. He is currently ranked 24th in the world, and is in the top 5 of Russia.

4.Michael Adams, is a 48 year old English Grandmaster. Even at his old age he is still the top English player and has won many English titles. Adams is currently ranked 37th in the world, and his peak rating was 2761 in 2017.

5.Mathew D Sadler, is also an English Grandmaster who is 45 years old. Sadler is the number 2 player in England. He is the 40th ranked in the world. He has reach his peak recently with a rating of 2694.
