LCWL Canadian Coverage: First Team-Adoption!
Welcome back chess enthusiasts! I'm back today with my first coverage of the LCWL for the Chess Federation of Canada!
Chess Federation of Canada, previously Team Canada Live, is the LCWL participant of Canada. We have had a merger with the official Chess Federation of Canada (CFC) to create a newer and stronger club. I'm the coacher, blogger and one of the streamers of the CFC. Today I'll be sharing my games, as well as game results against the Aussies. As you might guess from the title, it wasn't a good day for them .
The games were streamed on https://www.twitch.tv/chessdemon2019. The specific video for the stream is here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/827202900. Please leave a follow if you enjoy my content.
My first 2 game were against a 1600-rated player. I almost drew the first game despite being winning for most of the time. Here was a winning tactic I missed:
As you can see, it wasn't the hardest tactic to find. Now here is the full game.
Again, I had the grind the position with endgame technique, it was painful, but I still managed to pull off the win. My next game was a lot simpler.
Simple easy win without too much trouble. If you have a hard time following my plans, I explain them all on my stream. The video link is above, hope it is beneficial for you all.
These were my two games in the blitz portion. And these were the final results:
The Australian team, which was bigger than ours, only brought in 10 players, while we brought in almost 30. Only 10 boards were played, but looking at the rating gap between all the players, we had a 100% adoption! 20-0!! That's got to be one of the best performances by us this season, mainly because our opponent didn't bring in the players they needed.
That was the 5|2 portion. Now we had the 10|2 portion, and they brought in some more players. But the result was still extremely high in our favour, almost another adoption!
The only matchup we lost was on B2, because rapid ratings at that level aren't the most accurate. However, you can still see I won both of my games, again. Here they were:
Round 1:
Round 2:
As you can see, the rapid games weren't hard either. I didn't really face a hard opponent and (almost) never had any losing positions. The games aren't worth explaining much, the games were all smooth victories for me.
And there you have it! This is my first coverage for LCWL for Canada, my next one will be on our match against Turkey, a much stronger team and as for now, first in our division. Winning will secure first place for us in our division, as we move up into the next one. I'll see you then !
Also, I have reached 100 followers as of now! Thank you to all who have supported my journey, and feel free to follow me with the links below if you enjoy my content. I will only be streaming on the weekends, twice a week, so make sure to tune in then!
Thanks for Reading!!
