Hello! Welcome to Behind the Avatar (credit to @Witch31415 for the name)! I'm your host, @TheAuthorOfChickens. In this series, we get to know more about some of the people on social!
Today we're interviewing @Deflection.
Me: How are you doing today?
Deflection: Im doing just pEaChY! What about you? Thanks for having me!
Me: I'm doing peachy as well! And you're welcome I'm glad you accepted! So, let's start with who you are. What's your name?
Deflection: Hey, my real name is Terry. But you can address me as Deflection or any nickname you want, really!
Me: So, Deflection, what are some of your hobbies?
Deflection: Well, I love chess, badminton, taekwondo/most martial arts. They're all fun for me 
Me: Nice! I also love chess (appropriate seeing as we're on a chess site). Moving on to usernames, why did you choose the username you did?
Deflection: Since its a cool chess tactic and I like it fr!
Me: Excellent! Could you tell me what the history of your username is? Has it been changed? Has it been the same this whole time?
Deflection: At first it was "TerryTerrex" (DO NOT ASK) then "germonies" then "Spooky_Germonies". And here I am now!
Me: That's interesting. I've only seen you with your current one and "Spooky_Germonies". And dw I won't ask. It appears as if a Terrex is a tank...Terry the Tank! Okay, being serious now. Are you the type of person who changes their pfp a lot or do you like to stick with the same one?
Deflection: No Terrex is a pun like T-rex and Terry ;-; I keep my profiles for a long time, usually. Right now Im matching with @xxVesper! Great person.
Me: Ah, got it. I like Terry the Tank better. And the picture you two chose is pretty good! Let's move on to clubs. Do you own any clubs? If so, please link them and tell me a bit about them.
Deflection: I own 3! Leap Year Brigade and Worldwide Chess Group both used to be great. LYB I liked particularly. Anyway now I own Deflect To Victory! Its a solid club, I guess. (https://www.chess.com/club/deflect-to-victory)
Me: I can confirm DTV is solid. Are you a coordinator/admin/super admin in any clubs? If so, what are they?

Me: Oh no. We have a lazy person! Welp, guess the interview's cancelled! Goodbye everyone! Just kidding you're good Deflection. What was the first big club you joined, and how did you find it?
Deflection: First big club? The Pawns Journey. I found it when scrolling through chess.com clubs (it was new to me at that time, 2023ish) I didn't realize it was so inactive, tho-
Me: It's sad that it was inactive. Not sure if it's more active now. Alright, moving on from clubs now. What would you say is your greatest achievement on Chess.com?
Deflection: My biggest achievement on chess.com is finding chess.com! Best decision I've made by far. I've met so many cool and kind people, participated in a nice and welcoming community, and its always fun here on chess.com! All the clubs, forums, games, notes, chess, everything's great here! So yeah.. my biggest achievement on chess.com, is finding chess.com itself.
